im a high school quarter back.. and i'd just like to say that football players are put thru SO much shit you guys would not believe it.. we have practice from 8 am to 9 pm. we condition for about 2 hours right when we get there, and 2 more before we leave. its a fucking bitch. but it teaches you a couple things that normal people dont understand.

1. what it's like to have 65 guys who would take a bullet for you.

and


2. what it's like to overcome hell and come back and kick ass.


football is life.

I played football from when i was 6 years old up until i was 17. I got hurt junior year, and I was the happiest person, because I hated it. I used to love it, but there were just so many kids on the team that I hated, not to mention we got a new coach, it just sucked. Being a quarterback is something though, that's the only thing I miss. Going out there with 10 other guys relying on me to get things going, not to mention the fact that I was captain almost every year, it was weird having guys who I thought were much better than me looking to me for what to do.

For the past 5 years I've been playing hockey and it's one of the only things I look forward to during the week, but now that I'm going back to school I don't know how much i'll be able to play .. but hockey is definitely one of the best sports ever ...

I was in Marching Band in high school, and it was an easy "A+" for me and also improved my chops as a drummer....Even Travis Barker (Blink 182, Transplants, Box Car Racer) even said that if it wasnt for Marching Band he wouldnt know where he would be because it helped him become the drummer he is today. Like the other person said, forget all you think you know about all that Band Camp shit and all....I probably did more with the band then you have done with your whole life. I traveled to places you wished you did, and for what? For doing what I know how to do best? Playing the Drums? Damn if something gives me, 1) an "A+" to boost up my adverage, 2) Let me travel to places I only dreamed of and 3) Get me to be a better drummer than I was before.....then damn Im going for it.

This dude is hyping it up alot more than it needs to be..This is my 4th season playing now, and this is what I've learned.

Pros:
1. Anger release
2. If you hit someone, and snot flies out of their or your nose, it feels that much better.
3. Keeps you in shape.
4. If all else fails, and you run out of time to do your homework, you can always get the "Jock Aid". gotta love it. :D

Cons:
1. Double or Triple Sessions. fuck that.
2. The first 2-3 weeks is pure conditioning, until games start.
3. No spare time to spend with your friends, girlfriend, family, or anyone for 3 months.
4. All the shower jokes. We have a shower room at my school, but no one uses it. I live a 1/2 mile down the road from my school, so I just go straight home and shower.
