Her Breath On Glass totally fucking rule. I still think The Saddest Landscape will always be their best work as artists though.

Lately, View Of A Burning City. That band moves me like no other band ever has. Similarly, I Have Dreams are an amazing band. In about 9 months, they accomplished more than most bands ever will. They changed lives. Something good came out of something bad. 5 songs is all they left behind, but each of those songs is a gem, succinctly and beautifully relating what it means to be a friend.

Also, been crushing copious amount of Ampere and Wolves. Wolves have the best spoken word songs.

Can we please fuck the term "screamo" off please? It is horrible.

to be honest, its not really like that. the most frustrating thing is the fact that the two of us have spent years writing and trying to record shit, meeting people, etc. in all that time, this is the first time we've ever had a "real drummer." the thing is, I dont want to tour, I'd just love to play a few shows and hang out with friends. the most problematic thing is, is starting something you can't finish, and it has nothing to do with yourself, it all hinges on someone else, who supposedly makes a commitment, then makes bullshit excuses all the time. another problem is that this is really our only option. i hate playing acoustically, it bores me and isnt really all that expressive of our emotions. the guy who plays drums with us is the only person ive met in more than 3 yrs we've been writing who actually said he really wanted to play and be a part of this. yet he constantly backs out and puts everything at a standstill.

its not really about touring and getting known, its more about wanting to actually finish something that you started. that, shit, ive been trying to work this all out for quite a while, and we've dedicated a lot of our time to it. we put a little faith in someone else, hoping they might be able to take part in what we saw as special and help "get it out there." sadly, they apparently don't see it as important like you do, or just dont care. its just frustrating is all.

Dude. Fear not. I am 22, nearly 23. I have wanted to be in a band for SO SO SO fucking long that I cannot remember how many years. I only recently found another dude into the same stuff as me. He's on guitar, I am drums and vocals. It's hardly ideal but it's better than nothing. You have years ahead of you. There seems to be an underlying thinking that emo / skram bands have to be in your teenage years because that is the only appropriate time to scream, cry and be outwardly emotional as a band. Not true. Hang in there, as I am sure you will find a drummer that rocks out to the same stuff as you.

Yep, that's the 7". People who've heard it say the LP is great, but I'm not sure how it will translate to a longer format. A lot of screamo just seems a bit dated to me now, alas.

they had vocals on their first EP, and then the vocalist and bassist split. I think they'll have vocals on their officially recorded stuff, but the home cooked demos they had didn't have any vocals.

The rise of Chiodos and Saosin etc.. has only made real screamo more popular. Hot Cross get a lot more people at shows than Saetia ever did.

That does not advocate their creating shitty music under a false title. Hot Cross are out of the underground as far as screamo is concerned, bands that are not on EVR that are screamo are not benefitting from dog shit like Chiodos and Saosin.

Thursday, Glassjaw and Thrice are not Saosin or Chiodos. They're far more sincere and overall better post hardcore. You're not a typical fan of such bands either, many people do not go so deep as to look into non mainstream screamo and are happy taking a rec for The Fall of Troy off of the front of Risk Revival.
