the guitar intro to 'chared fields of snow' sounds like the music intro for the tv show 'days of our lifes'

a static lullaby bugs me. i like the music somewhat, but seeing them live pisses me off.
1) the singer, whoever the hell he is, does no actual singing. he just screams incoherent words and does obnoxious 'woahp...woahp' things into the mic.
2) he jacked adam lazzara's trademark mic swing.
3) too many ignorant fans. it bothers me greatly when kids run around screaming that a static lullaby is 'hardcore punk'. that, my dear, is how you differentiate 'posers' from the kids who actually know a thing or too about music.
midtown fully made up for static's lame ass though. i scored a broken stick and a hug from the drummer. and i've been a fan of midtown since day 1 so seeing them live, gabe standing literally right in front of me...it was amazing. inexplicably so. i rocked my little fucking heart out. great, great night...

i'm not too hip on the new screaming trend that alot of underground bands are picking up on (or have been doing for years). its okay in moderation, but when you can't understand a freaking word the singer is saying, it just makes for bad music. how am i or anyone else supposed to relate to the lyrics when they're all "blah blah blahblahblah"? true, one of my favorite bands ever, the refused did it, but at least the lyrics were somewhat audible. and btw, when you scream all your lyrics, its not deep or mysterious, its just plain obnoxious and stupid.

Who's your favorite 'hardcore' bands Wick?
i think that the static lullaby guy's scream is cool, but it always sounds like he's saying WOW. i'd rather hear him then the whiny effeminate singer that talks about daggers cutting hair, though.
refused did screaming the right way, no doubt about it.
i just turned off proeuth's sig. i can read quickly now, the sig is gone...

This reminds me of when people complain they'd like Poison the Well if they didn't scream. Funny stuff.

to ifeelused and suckerpunch_: i fully agree that midtown is nothing special live. they stand there and make music. no screaming, no jumping around, no swinging mics. if you had read my post carefully, however, you would have caught the reason as to why i enjoyed seeing them live so much. 'i have been a fan since day 1'. and i had not seen them live before that. about 9 months ago, they were my favorite band. so naturally, it was thrilling to me to finally get to see gabe face to face and to be able to sing his words right back at him. understand? and yes, ifeelused, it bothers me that many of midtown's fans are 'posers'. but, and i'm sure you agree with me on this one, midtown makes far better music than a static lullaby does. and for anyone willing to disagree, i am not referring to which is 'more punk'. because neither produce punk music.
and another thing. to all the people who complain about my signature: shut the fuck up. it's getting old. oh my god, you have to scroll down 5 inches. you might get exhausted.

1.) we need to stop with all the asl posts! they're everywhere (esp in the news section)
2.) ASL kicks ass.

i dont agree with you when u say midtown makes far better music than a static lullaby.
yes i read your post carefully and understand that you've been a fan of midtown i guess for a while. but i wasnt talking about that. i just found it funny that you were talking about a static lullaby's fans being posers and whatnot, when the next band you mentioned was midtown. i mean if you said a static lullaby were posers and then mentioned another band that was really "hardcore" that would be a different story
and im sure the singer from taking back sunday wasnt the first to do the swinging mic thing.
