View Full Version : Eighteen Visions Breaks Up

Eighteen Visions (http://www.eighteenvisions.com) has broken up (http://lambgoat.com/news/view.aspx?id=8681).
After several years of touring and quite a few album releases we have decided that it is time to go our seperate ways. We have been a band for a very long time and feel good about everything we were able to accomplish. At this point in our lives and our careers we feel its time to move on to something fresh and new. Weither it be music, touring or just being at home to live and enjoy life. We would like to thank all of our fans, friends and families for all of the great support over the years. We would also like to thank all of the bands we have shared the stage with and everyone who has ever worked with the band, opened a door or reached out a hand. We will be playing our final two shows in April. One in San Diego and one in Orange County. Come rock with us one more time.

And that, my friends, is known as vandalism. The page has to be taken straight out of the label's autobiography, though.

This band did a lot for OC over the years, and definitely came a long way. I've not been a huge fan of their last few records, but I've always enjoyed them live. I'm glad I got to see them a number of times over the years. Good luck to all those involved in the band/crew.

One thing about this band: they were ahead of the curve for a while. They definately set the trends for fashion in the metalcore scene. I know that is frowned upon alot but to be honest, sometimes in an over saturated scene like the metal/hardcore scene you need something more than killer tunes to set you apart. they were one of the first metalcore bands to show up at Hellfest wearing shirts and ties (and were copied many years after that).
Ultimately, i liked everything they did except the new album. I won't miss them because i still have the cds i like by them. hell, maybe they will form some kick ass bands out of this. It would be nice to see a revival of good metalcore instead of this half-assed KSE, In Flames, Botch rip off stuff that has been coming out today.

Seriously, Eighteen Visions was an extremely important band in our community as well as my favorite band of all time. Open up any hardcore band's CD booklet (for those of you aren't cheap enough to download it) and I guarantee you'll find Eighteen Visions name on it. I became a fan after hearing Vanity years ago and went on to buy everything but "Yesterday is Time Killed" Although their newest CD was stepping more away from their previous sound it was actually a great record (The Sweetest Memory, Our Darkest Days, Truth Or Consequence)
I'm tired of clicking on band news (in this case horrible news) and reading a long list of how this band sucked or "worst band over". If you don't like the band then keep it to yourself. I want to see a list of the actual fans responses not a bunch of teeny boppers who hear "Victim" on the radio and dismissed them.

Thank you!! I'm not going to lie, I loved their newest album... it wasn't the same as everything else they did, but it was a natural progression... I love them all! man a lot of the bashing is pretty unnecessary, but whatever. i'm slightly disappointed. i loved the old and new stuff. I think the band just felt like making a more "rock" sounding style of music was just more what they were into now rather than the hardcore they made previously. if they felt it was time to bow out, thats fine whatever. they know what they are doing. sad to see them go.
