Has anyone played this yet? I think it came out today or maybe even yesterday and was just wondering what you guys thought. IGN gave it a pretty good rating.

like 4 months ago, i put down a full payment for prince of persia for wii. after reading IGN's review and playing it briefly at a friends house, i decided it was nothing more than a mediocre port, which is very disappointing, because the GCN version of the game is one of my favorite new-wave video games. anyway, yesterday i went in and switched my down payment from POP to super paper mario. they had the full version of the game playable at the store, so i had an extra second and i picked i tup and played it. i ended up staying almost an hour and a half playing the game - it has a very "super mario world" feel to it, with just enough RPG in it to make me love it. i'm going to pick it up after this class i'm in now - cannot WAIT. from what i played, the IGN review, as always, was just about dead on.

For anyone that hasn't gotten it/pre-ordered it yet. You can print these coupons out and Best Buy will normally take them no questions asked. The guy today gave me a hard time but I just told him they sent it to me in an email and what's the point of sending me coupons if I can't print them out and he gave in and let me have the $5 off.

i was pondering picking this up, so is it light on the RPG elements? I have never played a paper mario game and will def. pick it up if it is more on the action side.

Picked it up today (on an impulse-like buy I probably can't afford haha) and I'm loving it so far. Bit heavy on the text, but definite Super Mario World feel with RPG-lite elements. I'm about an hour in - big thumbs up so far.

i woke up at 9. and its my spring break. and i had nothign to do so i went to wal-mart and picked up the first one. then i popped it in. and let me tell you. its amazing. and the story and the dialouge is hilarious. i advise all of you to get it. i'm about an hour and a half in.

Two hours in (gotta stop for class - dang) and I already know I'll have no regrets about buying this game. I can see the things IGN complained about (mainly the boring 3D landscapes) already, but this feels so....fun, and definitely a fit in the Mario universe of games.


My favorite element so far is turning into the massive 8-bit Mario (and another 8-bit element I don't want to ruin). It's so fun - and obviously a wink to fans. Haha I love it.

it's really, really good. pretty simple/easy, but really, really well done. there is a ton of dialogue, but it's written well.

some of the power ups are sweet and the 2d to 3d thing is sweetness.

I don't know. The battle sequences in the old Paper Marios really did it for me, now it just feels like a Wii version of Super Mario Brothers, every now and then forcing you to go 3D to solve a puzzle. You can't even stay 3D for longer than like, 20 seconds, not like you need to, since the 3D world isn't that well placed.
On the other hand, it is pretty fun so far, but I'm not convinced I'll be playing this game through due to my getting bored. The text is loooooooong and annoying, and the Wii capabilities aren't too well placed.

hmm, this seems to be a problem with most wii games i've looked at. The people that like the game LOVE It and the others seem to really hate it. I might wait until I'm done with Zelda before I pick this up.

This is like a Wii Super Mario World PLUS RPG-like elements PLUS Paper Mario-like style.

I love it - it's the first Wii game I've bought in some time and it's worth every penny, in my humble opinion.

I liked the earlier PM games, but apparently sales were just too low for Nintendo's tastes. So, they switched up the game play for this one.

This game is so much fun. I just finished getting my 3rd Pure Heart and it has just been a blast so far. The dialogue is hilarious in parts. I'm not sure if I like it is as much as 1000 year door yet but it is definitely a great game that I suggest everyone pick up.

Haha. They are actually called rubees in this game, and at one point you get stuck in a castle and have to work off a debt.


I am liking this game quite a bit so far. I am about 8 hours in and I just started World 4-1 (Outerspace). It is definitely getting harder as the game goes along. I died at one of the bosses because I forgot to buy any healing items in town, but other than that it has been fairly easy thur far. Some of the puzzles are cool, others are kind of lame.

I feel that this is kind of a gimmick game by nintendo just putting super mario world and paper mario together, but I do like it overall. However, I can tell it is going to be a relatively short game. The gamecube's paper mario game also had a better storyline I think..so far at least.


Mario Galaxy will likely be this years Holiday game! Which I have a feeling it is just going to be Mario 64 part 2...however it will of course be a must buy...like this game is:) I dont go as far as buying the mario sports games, but the platformers, RPG's, and Mario Karts are all must owns. IMO at least:)

Yep, it's called The Bigs. It's being released by 2K games, but it's being developed by a lot of the people that helped make MVP Baseball. It probably won't be out until June though.

When you have 10,000 rubees or more go into one of the rooms and flip to 3D....there will be a guy there willing to tell you a secret for 10,000 rubees...he will give you the 8 digit passcode.

I am 9 hours and 45 minutes in and I just got to chapter 5-1. I have to go to class but I should be playing a couple more hours tonight. I will likely beat the game on Sunday unless it gets insanely hard.

I'm on level 6-1 right now. If anyone has gotten past that, do you REALLY need to fight 99 guys to beat this? I've tried twice now and I get about half way through and then die. It's really discouraging me to finish this game haha.
