i'm really interested to see what mac will come out with in the net 2 years with the release of windows vista. mac will no doubtly follow with something really amazing, and i'm hoping it'll be worth my money when i need to buy a new computer. mac's are pretty cool ahah, but for now i think i'll use vista.

If your talking about computers, they already came out with the macbook and macbook pros less than 2 years ago (more in the ballpark of 12-16 monthes ago).. So for new hardware like that, anything high end like an upgrade to their laptops or consumer desktops, i dont see them coming up with anything new anytime soon.

if your talking about os, then Yes i bleieve Leopord is coming out soon, but thats hwat all of the 10. os' are named. I'm running panther (2004/2005), and the current one is Tiger (2005/2006)

What I do see mac doing soon is come up with a cheaper entry level computer. Similar to the mac mini. When your cheapest computer is over 1000+, its kind of hard to get a firm hold of the average consumer. But with apple becomeing more "trendy" (everyone in my hs now wants one, with iPods getting so much attn), i can see them coming out with a cheaper computeror something like the mac mini

Well, They totally reworked the notebooks, switching from there inferior G4 processors to intels, and changing over to MacBooks in the process...

unfortunately, they just pushed the release back until October because they needed software developers from the OS X camp to work on the iPhone to make sure they could meet that release.

I got 2GB ram for my MacBook Pro today and I can't even fucking install it since my screwdriver won't fit the screws. Now I gotta go into town tomorrow and buy a new set.

I'm debating whether it's worth getting the Airport Extreme too. I have an Express, but 80GB harddrive is too little really, and with the Extreme you can plug an external harddrive in the USB to access too.

Yes, Apple did announce that (and it was brought up earlier), but this article (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/04/13/top_secret_features_suspect_in_appl es_leopard_delay.html) was posted recently suggesting otherwise:

Apple Inc. has placed the blame for missing its self-imposed Leopard release date on its itty-bitty iPhone device, but analysts on Wall Street suspect other culprits -- such as a widely touted but so far elusive set of "top secret" features destined for the next-generation Mac OS.

Well they still haven't announced the new iLife and iWork programs - haven't even mentioned them. So I'm hoping that they are going to have some incredible integration with the operating system and great new features to really take advantage of the Intel processors (ie. Photoshop effects within iPhoto, more video editing capabilities in iMovie).

Also, I think they are going to increase the security of the operating system (that sometimes takes a few releases through Software Update to really become concrete) in lieu of their commercials criticizing Vista.

I've had my power book for almost 3 years. I have bearly upgraded never cleaned it out till just a couple weeks ago and used limewire and torrents in the past like crazy. I never once had a virus or any problem with it, Mac's are crazy tough.

Like it's always been said, they haven't really been targeted yet, while I know that is true I also still believe their security is superior to Windows.

Vista can lick my ass and I love new Mac commercials.

I've wanted a Mac for awhile now. This just absoltely guarantees I'll be getting one after Leopard releases.
