i could say i'm proud to be american, i guess. i'm not proud of our president nor am i proud to stake claim to a couple of the ways our government functions.... but overall, i'm proud of our independence, our rights (those regarding freedom and equality, in particular), and the fact that we have won every goddamn war for centuries now. i'm not sure. i have mixed feelings about it. two countries that i am very stoked on though are france and canada. i have never been to canada, but it seems like a fairly neutral, if somewhat stagnant, country. and i've heard it's clean and healthy..despite the whole sars thing. and i have been to france and i dont give a fuck WHAT arguement you come up with..the common french citizen does not hold the same ideals as his/her government and they are all very caring and hospitable people in general. i love the french. the english can go to hell..but the french are cool.

"we" didn't win vietnam, and since then, we only fought countries we knew "we" could beat. but as far as national pride goes, i have none, i believe in many of the principals of the constitution, but i don't believe in the way our government is acting, funny how that works.

"the best country in the world". that may be true, but it depends on how you rank it. i mean, we don't have like, the best...i dunno...BANANAS or COFFEE in the world, you know? we're not the best at that. we're good at other stuff, though.

and you're right, many other countries don't have what we have...but i think that means that we should help them, especially since we are (in some cases) partly responsible for the bad condition of their countries.

it's fine to like america, tonebaz, just be nice about it. you may think that america's the best, but remember that the rest of the world disagrees with you, and i doubt that everyone else in the world is wrong. i mean, you obviously have been to every country and have a vast knowledge of the way the world works, so it's possible that the other __billion people ARE wrong, but i doubt it.

and dude, if you really believed in diplomacy, you would've apologized by now.

OH!! and i don't really like the pennywise song very much. they seem to be kind of informed about politics on the website, but they don't convey that very well in the songs they sing. i think that their political views are so completely one-sided that it makes them boring, and i think that the instrumental side of things is pretty lame too. they just aren't very special, and i think most of their stuff sounds the same.
