It's going to be released in two weeks. $99 for a two year contract, and it has multimedia messaging along with faster internet than the Sidekick 3. However it doesn't have an mp3 player, a camera, bluetooth or an SD slot. I don't see why they even made this. Plus, it's hideous.
Anyone heard about this/thinking about getting one?
i hadn't heard about this. it looks so goofy haha. but if the internet is faster and its that cheap...it might be worth it. i miss my sidekick, i miss being online all the time, perhaps this in addition to my phone would be cool. but then again i don't want to have two phones to carry around. hm..
hmmm is there a deal to trade in sidekick 3 for one of these? because I think the sidekick 3 is actually pretty terrible lol. I wonder if this would be an upgrade for me. Even though my bill with my sidekick 3 is mad cheap for everything (50 bucks a month)

I kinda want it, it's better than not having a sidekick at all

according to this (http://crunchgear.com/2007/03/21/ditch-t-mobile-without-the-fees/) it says you can get out of your current tmobile contract without paying the 200 fee...but it doesnt say how? sorry that probably doesn't help you but i tried.
oh wait:
Joining the ranks of just about every other wireless carrier in America, T-Mobile has decided to increase their text messaging rates (while simultaneously decreasing the cost of each MMS). As has been the case when other carriers have made similar moves, this constitutes a material breach of contract on T-Mobile's part, allowing customers to jump ship without paying the hefty $200-per line ETF. I can confirm that this works, as I just canceled two lines hours ago, but as always, your mileage may vary depending on the CSR you get.

im prob going to pick one up
I'm happy with my sidekick 2, but this I would probably by this if I didnt have one.
I don't know if I should replace this with my sidekick 3, but they say the internet is faster and the aol is much better, fuck I could do without the shitty camera and terrible sounding mp3 player.

it's for young kids.
it's for young kids.
Thats what I feel like it was made and was suppose to look like this for, I mean, I really can see a lot of 15, 16 and 17 year olds walking around with this, I am 20, I really don't want to be lumped into that category where people my age will be uptight saying I was to poor to afford the sidekick 3.

My plan with my sidekick 3 is fucking beautiful.
free nights+weekends
unlimited TEXTING, email, aol, internet
500 daytime/week mins
50 bucks. Better than most phone plans.
unlimted texting is so key.

it's exactly what it was made for.
the low price, the lack of bluetooth (why would young kids ever need bluetooth)
the lack of mp3 player, most young kids already have ipods that are attached to them as if it were a vital organ.
and the zany colors, its for like 11 - 17 year olds.

Glad to know I don't have a faulty battery if everyone has this problem. I can seriously be at full charge and open it up maybe ten times in the span of 3 hours and I'm already down to half. And this is not even talking on it. I still like the phone minus a few annoyances, and you really cannot beat $50/month for the stuff you can do. /rant

I fucking hate them ... I can't think of any other place or "company" that has treated me (the customer) so horribly.
I've been with them since the SK2, never missed a payment, and they treat me like they don't need my business. Once Melissa moves here I will be seriously considering getting rid of it. I only "need" it for texting her if I really think about it.

Agreed.
I am still pissed we can't have custom ringtones though ... 2$ for the shit they have on their "catalog"? So lame. I'd pay 2$ to upload a custom one ... but to just limit your customer's ability for customize their phone (whhen all your competitors allow it, and you yourself as a company apparently realize the importance of customization) is fucking outrageous.

They're all morons. The one thing I can't stand is when they say "Do you mind if I call you Joe?" instead of saying Mr. whoever. It's like, what, am I going to say "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do mind. I prefer you call me God for the rest of this conversation."
Plus, it also doesn't help that half the reps can't even speak english. X-)
And the only thing I use it for is the IM and internet since I have an unhealthy addiction to the computer, even though the only site I go to is here heh.

Hahahaha, I dunno. But the 5 seconds of a song for 3$ pisses me off ... especially the part of the songs they usually choose. And trying to navigate the "catalog" is fucking annoying as shit.
Growl. I've never wanted to punch someone more than when I had to deal with them moving my plan a few years ago ... I didn't think I could get so pissed off at someone over the phone.
And the fact that their "stores" are all just distributors or whatever .. so they don't even have the authority to really help you ...

Sidekicks' ringers suck. I don't like rings with vocals. The sample for Rush's "Tom Sawyer" had only the music, so I bought it. It turned out to have the first verse as well, which is kind of lame. Its still a good song and all, just not what I wanted for a ringer.

(PS: I uploaded something you probably would like in the staff forum.)
I had a Scrubs theme before. It'd play the theme song when I flip it open haha. And thanks for that, I'll check it out. :-)

No Wendys where you live?!.
No, they shut down all of the Wendys in the St.Louis area. Closest one is over an hour away.
Come back.
Do I get Scrubs and Wendys?

Hinge sounds are pretty useless to me. I guess it'd be useful if I were to ever record my voice saying "fuck off" or "leave me alone, I don't care about what you have to say" and set it as a hinge noise so I would never have to speak to anyone ever again.

I think you did too. Ice cream there is okay. The taquitos in the Mexican food stand are good, but only because all of that food comes from Chevy's Fresh Mex.

I don't understand why anyone would go out with someone in their band. When they break up, it's basically an automatic break up of the band.

I make sure to eat a ton of those every time I go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. Since I only eat them once a year, the calories and fat do not affect me. That's how nutrition works.
