I absolutely love Cursive's latest record. Yet I totally disagree with the theme and subject matter of Happy Hollow. The whole record is a cynical albeit clever critique of organized religion, mainly Christianity. As a Christian, even though I disagree with Tim Kasher's views, I respect his songwriting talent immensely. But I sort of feel like I'm betraying my faith by listening to music that criticizes it. Does anyone else have any similar feelings, maybe not about this cd in general, but is it possible to separate the music from the message?

It's possible.
I love Happy Hallow too....but I actually agree with Tim Kasher's point of view. The Thermal's record also talks down about religion. Haha, I'm such an atheist...well, no, I'm agnostic but I think organized religion sucks, for the most part.....
I listen to a lot of "Christian bands" that kinda-sorta talk about God or whatever in their lyrics, but I just interpret them from my perspective and make them into something I can relate to.
I like Underoath, I just saw em last month with Taking Back Sunday...their latest record is really good. But I hate their guitarist, what's his name? Tim? For his stupid views on a certain subject.
