I hadn't really thought about it, but this is the perfect battleground for terrorists to engage American troops

First of all, they're far from home (obviously)

Second, they're surrounded by a population that, at best, is tentative about American presence, and is often hostile.

Third, there's still basically no infrastructure to root out any terrorists in the country.

yeah, good points...i just don't get why they bombed the Jordanian embassy...wouldn't they go after a non-muslim country before attacking one of their own?

yeah, Jordan is fairly Pro-Western, and they are an ally of the US so i suppose that explains it...still i would assume they'd go after a western embassy before another muslim nation, but who knows why the fuck they blow up anything at all....
