i cant watch The Sandlot and not get a little choked up at the end of the movie ( I've sat through it countless times, and still its the only movie that gets to me at the end.......every damned time)

other sport flicks of acclaim:
eight men out
the program
mystery alaska
......oh and what the hell ill throw Rocky in there as well.

this thread was inspired by the fact that the (BO)Sox game does not start for another 10 minutes.

I can't believe you're list of best sports films.... Those are all great movies, however you failed to mention the 2 best..... well the 3 best sports films. Field of Dreams is hands down the best movie of all times (no not just the best sports movie the best movie). The supposive criminal shoeless joe is showen as the herio that he was to men and boys every where. Despite the fact he did accept money to throw the game he batted over .300 for the series and committed no errors in the field. If he committed any crime it was to cheat those sick men out of their money. Shoeless joe finally gets to come back and play the sport on this magic field. I find it impossible to watch this movie w/ out sheding a tear. This is clearly a flawless movie. You also failed to mention The Endless summer 1 and 2. I haven't seen the first one but the second one brought togather a story of two young men's journey to numerous surf spots across the world, spectacular photography, and breath taking scenery in a very visually artistic manner. I was told the first one was just about on the same level as the first just based years earlier on the long cluncky boards. I'm going to give you the benifit of the doubt and assume that you have not seen these movies in which case you should leave your computer run to your car drive to blockbuster (or where ever you go) and rent at least field of dreams and Endless Summer 2, rrrrrrriiiiiiiiiight NOW!!!!!

you are correct in assuming that i have yet to see the endless summer series..and field of dreams would probably rank within the top ten, but most definately not the best. i sorta have a problem with kevin costner, it just seems to me that though his characters are different he always acts in the same monotonous way, as for the actual film it is a good father son movie, (though not as good as The Champ, Finding Nemo, and Frequency) but it just does not really come through in the end.

yeah every time that came on tv or there was an oppertunity to rent it i'd watch it w/ my dad, those and watching uga football games are some of the best memories i have with my dad. i still live at home cus i'm just in hs but we've kinda grown apart since i've gotten in hs. but yeah finding nemo is deff in the top like 5 or 10 movies EVER.

"little big league" is the best sports movie ever. you know, its the one where the kid becomes the minnesota twins owner and manager and all of the sudden they start winning. and the star player for the twins is nailing the kid's mom.

honorable mention goes to "rookie of the year". its funny watching that kid from american pie when he was like only 8.

those are juvinile movies created w/ out any real sense of film making or artistic views at all. don't get me wrong dude where's my car was probably the worst movie ever but damn if it's not one of the funniest. i'm just sayn' that how funny a movie is has very little to do with weather or not it's actually a good movie, the intention in making those two movies was to create a good form of entertainment for young children.
