Who?

While Victory State might be musically mediocre, the industry could use more bands with the mindset of these British dudes. Each dollar made from their four song EP will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation. Essentially, the band will be paying for a bunch of kids to meet The Artic Monkeys or the Gallagher brothers (yeah, right).

How Is It?

Melodic, alternative rock can mean a lot of things. In Victory State’s case, it means strained vocal melodies, quick riffs, and some decent, much needed guitar solos. Not too much stands out here, which is a shame, because the charitable aspects of the album are so commendable. Each song sounds pretty much the same, but “Burned To The Sound” and “Scene But Not Herd” have technical shredding that could actually lead to restrained head-banging. I guess Victory State prove nice guys finish somewhere in the middle. Hey, I’ll take it.

Recommended If You Like: (new) Lostprophets, Kids In The Way, Make A Wish Foundation, getting off your butt and doing something worthwhile today, giving.
