Say Anything/Saves the Day Portland, OR 4.16.07

Okay, so pretty good show overall. I'm actually not that much into any of these bands, but I like Say Anything enough to go check them out.

Anyways...

John Ralston (7-725):

I dont know much by him, but he and the band played well. The crowd really liked Gone, Gone, Gone. I was wondering where his violinist Susan was (but maybe she isnt really apart of his band?). Good set overall. They played 8 songs pretty quickly and made the way for the co-headliners.

Saves The Day (743-830):

Unfortunately, I didnt know their stuff well enough to get a complete setlist, but I definitely enjoy these guys live much more than on album, which is rare. They probably put on the best performance of the night, and that is from someone who doesnt even listen to them. The set (to the best of my knowledge is below) I am sure they played close to the same as the set that was posted for San Francisco:

Say Anything (905-1003):

Pretty good set overall. Max was upset with the volume of his mic on the first couple of songs and I dont know if it ever got fixed because it was hard to hear him at times. The band was really solid and Max put a lot of emotion and energy into the set, especially towards the end!

They really brought it on the encore and closed the show very well!

Personally I think their set is missing songs like Spidersong, Where the Hurt Ism Resounding, and Chia Like I shall grow.....but I probably should have just seen them sooner in my show going days haha!

i have some pictures and some clips of SA's new song, which has horrible horrible sound quality, so i don't know if i'll post that.

but i do agree that their set was missing a few key songs, but overall SA was good. And Saves the day was amazing, I loved how chris came out in his Hawaiian shirt sipping on some hot tea.

Well I am hoping that STD goes on after Say Anything. Don't get me wrong, I love Say Anything so much, but STD deserve to close this tour. They've earned it.

It was such a great show. I really like the fact that it started at 7 and ended around 10. I hate shows that go till midnight, it's a bitch to wake up in the morning for school the next day.

Awesome pictures. SA & STD played in front of the same backdrop ? what was it, it looks like a moon or something. This sold out in my city and i cant beleive i actually considered giving up and just forgetting about it. I'll have to call up my local ticket dealer and see if he couldt possibly charge me a reasonable amount for tickets.
