Laptop was released on Sidecho (an Indie Label) so that's how he qualifies. His latest album "The Graduate" was released on Nettwerk which is one of the labels leading the fight against the RIAA by offering to PAY the legal fees for a teenager in Texas who was sued by the RIAA. Everything about what MC Lars and the labels he associates with puts him in the "Indie" Category.

The Festival is available to bands who are unsigned or signed to an Indie label.
