Honestly, I think Dawn of the Dead (the original) is better than Night of the Living Dead.

I find it to be way better. And I am a man who loves his Zombies. My personal favorites are 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead original, Dawn of the Dead new, Shaun of the Dead...and well, those are my favorites.

Definately the original Dawn of the Dead. By far the best zombie movie. All of the George Romero movies are gold, even Land of the Dead has it's moments.
(terrible plug for comic book thread): Everybody in here should check out the comic Walking Dead. It's Marvelous. It's heavily based on the George Romero movies, but totally it's own thing. It's basically what if a zombie outbreak happened, but never stopped.
Also is everyone here stoked for 28 weeks later?

I completely agree. Original Night of the Living Dead is good, but you just cannot beat the original Dawn.

Night of the Living Dead was a horror revolution. It probably scared the shit out of its audience more than any movie ever has. You can't beat the ending, either.

The ending is great. I remeber the first time I watched it, I was like how can they if they are shooting zombies or not. And then the end happened and I was like oh, I guess they can't.
please tell me one of you guys caught last nights South Park. They totally spoofed Dawn of the Dead..which is probably one of my favorite zombie movies
actually now that I'm thinking about it, this is hands down THE best zombie movie. and its simply titiled "ZOMBIE" its by Lucio Fulci, check it out

Man, I can't wait for 28 Weeks Later and Fido. Fido is going to be fantastic. Billy Connelly is supposed to be ridiculously good in it. I'm not sure if I'd want my own pet zombie, but I think I might...

There are no zombies in The Evil Dead. Might as well call Frankenstein a zombie while you're at it.Well there are people that used to be alive (the woman in the cabin in Evil Dead 2), I gues it just depends on the exact definition of zombie

that's true they weren't zombies is more like possessed demons, but they make it look like zombies though with the bitting and stuff, but we all know is just possession of demons, a really weird possession if you ask me.

William H. Macy and Jeffrey Combs are going to be starring in House of Re-Animator (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0804493/). They announced it months ago, but there hasn't really been an update since...
Slightly off-topic but I'm currently reading World War Z. Such a cool book so far. I recommend it to zombie lovers.
I wasn't that big of a fan of The Zombie Survival Guide (I thought it got boring after a while), but World War Z was amazing. I still can't want to see the movie adapation. I mean, Brad Pitt's Plan B production company (they did The Departed) is behind it. Not only that, but he might even star in it. It's good to know that he'll be doing something for once other than adopting lots of kids from other countries.

According to this (http://www.vc-reviews.com/coming_soon.php) site, the ESRB recently rated the game. That means it'll be coming to a download service in some shape or form. There's no way it'd be on the Playstation Network, I doubt 360 owners would care for it, but it'd be perfect for the VC.
anyone see night of the tripping dead? fucking weirdest movie ever...

Even though I'm a huge Sami Raimi/Bruce Campbell/Evil Dead fan, I have to agree with everyone else. Haha those are "possession" movies rather than true zombie movies.

I'd have to say my favorite zomb movie is the Dawn of the Dead remake, mainly because it has one of the best first-ten-minutes in any movie, ever. In fact, I remember right around its release, TNT or TBS or someone broadcast the beginning in its uncut form. Anyone remember that?
As for the most brutal scene, I'd say it was in Land of the Dead. Although it was only like 3 seconds long, it may have been a bonus for the unrated dvd. Either way, its the part where people are getting massacred left and right, and one zomb gets behind a guy and kinda makes him sit on the ground. The zomb then proceeds to place his fingers in between the guy's front teeth and upper lip, and literally takes his face/scalp off like a hood. All the while the guy is alive and screaming. That, my friends, is the most brutal shit ever.
