well my best friend(its a she) just left for 2 weeks on a missions trip, and ive been really down about that. luckily my good friends yellowcard decided to make the song 'believe', so keep choking up everytime i hear it. matchbook romance also had to make the song 'promise' and shit son, that one gives me goose bumps.music is all i have to get me through the next 2 weeks without her.
anybody else have songs that are really close to your heart?

There are a tons of sings that get to me from like past experiences and about stuff thats been going on now. Right now one of the newer ones that get to me is yet ANOTHER Yellowcard song "Only One" yeaaaahhh. and Theres a lot of Ataris ones that get to me like "Between You and Me" which relates to this girl I used to really like and yeah, shit happened. and ummm another Ataris one would be "San Dimas High School Football Rules" because me and my band were gonna play it at my party and instead of saying Whitney I was gonna say the name of the girl I liked in it to tell her I liked her but she couldnt come. yeah, "Your Boyfriend Sucks" too and that one is self explanitory. and now "Ciggarette" by Yellowcard because the girl I currently like enjoys that song...ummmm... I'm too fucking EMO right now, I really miss someone and yeah I feel like crap...

Dude my best friend left on a trip for 3 weeks and when he comes back I will be at college. Yeah, Miles Apart is a really good song for that.
anyone else find that they begin to associate certain songs with specific time periods in their life or places they've spent a lot of time? like anytime now that I listen to the quiet things it reminds me of where I work this summer 'cause I listened to it a lot on the drive out to work...
even worse are the songs that remind you of past relationships...

Yea thats how they became my favorite band. "Fast times at dropout high" is a song that always breaks me apart, and "your boyfriend sucks" is also self explanitory. "The hero dies in this one" is also close to me because its the one time i came really close, but the girl went away to college, so i told her the line "sometimes we're helpless and alone, but you cant let it keep you weighted down, you must go on". Sucks.
As for my yellowcard pick, id go with empty apartment, that song nearly makes me cry a little. And for everyone picking on "ocean avenue" when it came out, it seems like a lot of people like it. It grew on me too.
And for the person that said "lancaster pa" has no screaming, they were wrong.And i dont think its their best. BM's best song is "for a friend" to me anyway.
And an add on, the older ataris records are pretty much summing up my life right now. Thank you kris for also having a sucky life. I can relate.
Oh yea, and "beautiful mistake" sums up my last relationship too. Damn you music.......i agree.

i recently saw a girl i had a huge crush on in high school for the first time in 3 years. and she acted like she didn't know me. i don't know what happened, she used to always flirt with me in english class. well, anyways that was devestating. i got into my car and listened to "jude law and a symester abroad" and that made me feel better for some reason. i don't know why. it just did.

I hate when stuff like that happens like my sophmore year of high school I was walking down one of the aisles at Target with my head down because I'm always depressed like that and I see a girl like put on the breaks and then look at my face and give a weird facial reaction and walk away, I felt retarded because yeah that was some girl I liked in 7th grade and there was like no "hi" or "whats up" or anything...

dude, that's exactly what happened to me. no shit. except for it wasn't at target. i went to register for college summer courses earlier this year and she was standing in line at the main computer where you print your schedule. so i walked up and smiled and she just turned her head. i even pretended to stand in line to see if she would say anything, but she didn't. a "hi" would have worked for me, but she just had to ignore me and make me feel like the biggest retard ever. i swear if i didn't have that Brand New cd in my car, i would have drove off a bridge.

you shouldn't care, but you do. I wouldn't blame you. People always say "so many people have it worse"...maybe true, but that doesn't change the fact that whatever it is that's bothering you is BOTHERING YOU. you care for a reason...you can't ignore your problems because you think you shouldn't be bothered by them. if it bothers you, then your problem is just as bad as anyone elses, regardess. I know what you mean though. It's like if you talk to a girl for a while and it turns out that she doesnt like you. Personally, I always feel like i'm "not good enough" or something is wrong with me...I'm not one to say "fuck it" and move on.
I'm not saying you can't be bothered by it, but it's not fair to say that the girl was acting like a bitch or something. I don't know about you, but if I were expected to act like old friends with everyone I flirted with three years ago, well, there would be lots of awkwardness.
