According to HITS (http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi), Avril Lavigne's new album is "targeted to go well over 250k in first-week sales", and the Nine Inch Nails' Year Zero "is ticking off at around the 200k mark."

Take Avril's first three albums, plus any other albums she would make if she had a 100 year career, and then realize that this one album by Nine Inch Nails and the concept surrounding it are better than all of that combined.

Yes, that's an opinion, and it's not necessarily saying Avril is a bad artist, but .. it's just how it is.

;-)Surely we all need a break from serious (read 'seriously good') music at sum point? I mean, sure, Avril isn't original, deep or inspired, but sumtimes it's good fun to sing along to sommat irreverent and poppy. I'm sure that loads of us own something similar for times when we don't want to listen to scene stuff...?

I tend to agree. Avril's fun if that's what you like...but Nine Inch Nails is just in this perpetual state of amazingness.

I use to like Avril.. when Girlfriend was released it totally put me off. Had a listen to the album and I'm shocked it's actually selling well.

But NIN is awsome. No doubt for that.
