Lets face it, most rap are horible mat, hat, cat, bat rhyms put to gather to brag about a usually black person's commonly no existant wealth. I find most of it painfull to listen to, even at parties, however it continues to be a domniant force in the music industry. It seems as though anyone who doesn't listen to it can easially be classified as an outcast at my school. All this aside lets not forget about the few who actually put feeling, emotion, and values to their works ( like 2pac, nas, and the black eyed peas). I do actually enjoy their music. What do yall think?

i agree. but i wouldnt consider black eye peas rap. but yes nas and 2pac are both amazing and put a lot of emotion into most of their songs. all the new rap does suck. its mostly about negative messages most kids dont need. but that does seem to be the way music is nowadays. but wouldnt rapping about the ghetto, bitches, money, and expensive wine, vodka whatever get boring?

Obviously rap matters if people are buying rap records. I dislike rap but when I am drumming it is alot more fun to drum to hip hop and funk than punk.

some rap is great, like the underground rap that has an actual band instead of drum machines and shit.

rap used to matter, it used to be a form of political protest music, now it's all about hoes, bitches and bling bling, and trying to see who can talk fastest, even though none of them can compare to how fast jello biafra sings on "drug me"

just an example of the first song i came to on some random lyric site, it's by nelly i think it might be called pimp juice:

"I'm in that, seventy-four, Coupe DeVille
With the, power seats, leather, wood on my wheel
One-touch sunroof BUT leave it alone
Hoes see it can't believe it - "It's goin back on it's own"
Oooooooooooooooh, shit, that's how we do it baby
"Every day like this?" Seven dayy-ayyys
.. I tell you three-sixty-five
Winter spring and fall, in the summer we ride"

next time he should just repeat over and over to a beat:
"i'm rich and out of the projects you misrible ******s, and because of all the money i have i get to have sex w/ a lot of easy women who just so happen to be fans of my music, man i'm glad i'm rich, rich, rich, rich"
