Legendary hardcore band, Death By Stereo, makes their Live album debut with Death Alive. This is a reissue of the original pressing included in Law of Inertia Magazine and a solid one at that. Not only is LoI Magazine presently out-of-print, but Death Alive is a testimony to the band’s celebrated live show and a perfect set for newbies to D.B.S. to jump into.
How Is It?
Composed of seventeen tracks that span the band’s eleven year existence, Death Alive not only provides an ample amount of fan favorites, but the banter between songs is well-worth the price alone. Vocalist Efrem Schulz is as charismatic as ever and his connection with the crowd is genuinely entertaining. Even between talking about “getting effed in the a”, choking on water, and misfired stage diving, Schulze still has the strength left to be quite the formidable frontman. Songs like “Desperation Train” and “Unstoppable” are as intricate as ever, really setting Death By Stereo apart from the cliché of today.
