Farewell Flight - Lost At Sea
Released October 13th, 2006
Unsigned
Who?
Quintet out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; home to faulty nuclear power plants and Newt Gingrich. Lost At Sea, the fourth EP released by a band only two years old, finds a maturity beyond their years and lyrical excellence one would not expect to find in a self-released album such as this.
How Is It?
Without even having listened to Farewell Flight’s previous EPs, I can say with full confidence that these guys are on the top of their game. Lush arrangements, distinctly delicate guitar work, and the wounded vocals of Luke Foley elevate Lost At Sea to a near perfect status.
“Tilt your glasses steep/And drain them if you’re like me/Filled up with apathy/Worn out, accepting defeat/Concur if you’re at home/And you’re getting drunk alone/In front of the TV/Stone-faced, falling asleep”
If you ever have any kind of desire to listen to a band (http://myspace.com/farewellflight) that just does it right, Farewell Flight will slip into your "February Morning Playlist" quite well next to the likes of Death Cab, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Elliot Smith.
