i miss Napster so much. you could find anything on there. complete albums by your favorite artists and everything. all kinds of cool live shit. and awesome cover songs. this program got me into punk music. i would spend hours downloading songs from blink, face to face, descendents, less than jake, screeching weasel, mxpx, nofx, alkaline trio, rancid, afi, saves the day, etc... just to see what punk music was capable of. i would probobly be listening to lil bow wow if napster never existed.

as soon as i got napster, i downloaded every song i ever heard in my life. i had like 2,000 songs.

never had the pleasure of using napster. it reminds me of the italian job though. aren't they supposed to be up and running again sometime soon? or is that yet another truthless rumor....

yes, napster is suppose to be back up and running but you have to buy the program. roxio bought it from that guy for 4 million dollars. so they are thinking of releasing it around christmas time. but it has like limited amount of times it can be burnt onto a cd and other restrictions.

I never realized how much I missed Napster till someone said it. I tried Kazaa for awhile, but it wasn't the same. Yeah, I heard the same thing, that Napster was supposed to be back up sometime in the next year, but I think you have to pay for songs now, of course.

that kinda sucks that a computer program used to steal music got you into punk music. its just sad.

who ever said anything about burning cds? i downloaded them to find out if the band was any good. if so i bought the cd, if not i saved money.

i bought my favorite bands cd's because of Napster. for example - i've bought 8 NoFX cd's. i promise you, if i never downloaded them i would own this many - 0. i used Napster to let me know which music to buy. so shut up. you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

How is that sad? Thats how I got into punk. How else was I supposed to? My friends didnt listen to punk, they didnt play anything but Blink on the radio. I never had any idea half these bands existed. My friend hooked me up with an extra concert to NFG, and I loved it, and I loved the other 3 bands they were with... and that started the madness.

I was 12 , and Napster had only recently gone, but then I found Kazaa. If you want beter than Kazaa I-mesh is good.
i dont DL alot anymore anyways. so it doesn't matter.

I download more than ever know , I just got Broadband so I download albums and stick em on mini disc.

no man you have it all wrong...i FIND new bands by downloading songs, find out i like them, and then i buy their cds. ive burned the occaisonal cd from online but thats rare, and most people i know are like that too. i wouldnt just buy their cd bc my friend said theyre good. i never would have discovered, and then bought merch from and cds from and went to concerts of (therefore SUPPORTING them, not ripping them off), like 3/4 of my favorite bands if i didnt originally download a bunch of their songs and found out they kicked ass. i understand that people who just download whole cds and burn them , and never ever buy any cds, are dumbasses, but in small amounts i think downloading is a good thing and in the long run, actually promotes many bands, like especially ones that arent on the radio.
