If you are from the state of Georgia and do not vote for R.E.M., that's sacrilegious.

Heck, yes. Rush is sick nasty. If your listening to music for music, then no other band in the entire classic rock era can touch any of them. Neil Pert's the best musician on drums maybe ever (maybe not from sheer difficulty, but he's a freakin genius), Lifeson is sick, and have you heard the bass lines Geddy Lee hits while he sings?

Are you serious??? Van Halen started a whole movement in music that lasted a fucking decade. (80s Glam Metal)

Yes they did and they had some great albums and songs with great musicians and a brilliant singer.

Agree, agree, agree.
And if you have never seen them live, fucking do it. I saw Geddy hit bass notes with just his left hand, while his right hand was playing the keys. Amazing. And a Neil Peart 8 minute drum solo is the best 8 minutes of my life. And Lifeson is just fantastic. The only reason he is not as talked about is because he is in a band with arguably two of the best ever at their respective instruments. I'm pumped for the new album. The tracks I've heard so far already shit on Vapor Trails.

came down to The Who and The Clash, but in the end i voted for The Clash.
this is the closest of all the polls for the finals. Only 24 bands will probably make it to the next round.

when i saw bob dylan, that was my choice...elton john was second then followed by the rolling stones...this was pretty tough i guess...
This has until Wednesday and then I will be taking the top 6-8 bands and making new polls with who are in the finals. Keep on voting people :)

Where are the The Doors, The Police, Jimmy Buffett (son of a son of a sailor is in my top10 fav. song list) , Lynrd Skynrd (reppin the dirrrty south)? All these musicians are great music and lyric writers but i went with Bob Dylan since my dad plays his songs on his acoustic every night and i can hear him from his bedroom while im studying and it just makes me think about my life, helps me take alot of weight off my shoulders and relieves the stress from everyday life. Kensrue and Oberst in 20 years. Putting my signed Rudy T. b. ball and Clyde Drexler cards on it.
The Police are in a different poll and the same thing with The Doors. Lynyrd Skynyrd was eliminated a long time ago. Jimmy Buffett was never in the polls but I will throw him into the next portion of the polls.
