I've been to a lot of concerts. I know the drill. Parking can be tough, crowds can be stuffy, sound can be bad sometimes. But nothing could of prepared me for the crapfest that the WARPED TOUR was on August 10th in Asbury Park.
It took me 2 1/2 hours to go 4 miles. That's how bad the traffic was. And the reason? The cops were stopping traffic right before Asbury, so that there wouldnt be a line of traffic through the city.
So I finally get to the festival, and there's no signs or anything. Nothing to tell me where to park. So i stop and ask a cop if there's any lots to park in. He looks at me and says "no, there's no where to park, keep going."
 So now i have no idea where to park. So i turn around and drive back in to asbury ( a slum ) and drive around for about half an hour before finding a spot.
So I finally get to the concert, and i run to the main stage. Simple Plan's on, and they sound alright, but i'm not a big fan. So i look for the schedule of bands playing. Takes me another 10 minutes, but i find it (there's only 1) and realize i've missed the Atari's completely. They went on at 1 and i didnt get in till 3.
So then i look for the other band i want to see a lot. Brand New..... AND I'M MISSING THEM RIGHT NOW!!!! So i run and then realize wait... where's the stage there playing. There's no maps, and every vendor i ask tell me that's not there job to answer that question.
I finally find the stage.... And Brand New is playing an accoustic set. It sounded great, unfoutanetly i only saw 4 songs. And then they were done.
I then take a good look at the schedule and realize i've missed most of the bands i wanted to see already. The only other band i really came to see isnt going on for 3 1/2 hours (all american rejects).
And the audience wasnt nearly as into the music as i thought they'd be. It was more about just being at the warped tour and buying stuff and looking at tents. I thought it sucked. Maybe i'm just not cut out for festival type concerts.
But the one peice of advice i'll give everybody from now on.... DONT GO TO ASBURY PARK TO SEE ANYBODY! It sucked. I really wish venues would listen up and make some changes.
(BUT 4 SONGS FROM BRAND NEW ACCOUSTIC MADE IT ALL WORTH IT OF COURSE):D
