I've been listening to Bowling For Soup casually for a few years now, but my main purpose of going to the show was to see Quietdrive. I had never heard Ronnie Day before tonight. He was good, but they had a little bit of a "christian band" sound. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it sounded like something I'd hear at a Christian retreat or something. I'm sure you guys know them better than me. Quietdrive sounded pretty good for the most part, although the guitars were at a low volume and the bass kept going in and out. Sound guy's fault I'd imagine. Here's the set list (not in perfect order):
Get Up
The Season
Let Me Go In
Take A Drink With Me
Maybe Misery
Rush Together
Time After Time
Handsome Devil's Benediction
Rise From the Ashes
Then Bowling For Soup came on. I had never gotten a chance to see them before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But I knew their music much better than I thought I did. Surprisingly, they sounded really good and definitely knew how to entertain a crowd. Here's the set list (again, not in perfect order, but close):
A Friendly Goodbye
Two Seater
The Bitch Song
Almost
Trucker Hat
Ohio
Punk Rock 101 (they dedicated it to Absolutepunk members)
Emily
High School Never Ends
Hometown
Hit Me Baby One More Time (Britney Spears cover)
Belgium
Last Rock Show
Girl All the Bad Guys Want
When We Die
1985
Summer of 69
Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone who has ever been a fan of BFS or Quietdrive, or anyone who just wants to have a good time, regardless of the music being played. It was fun and funny. Most satisfying show Ive been to in months.
