I'm sure it has something to do with Geoff Rickly's voice. It's definitely strange. I didn't like them when I first heard them either, but my friends played their music so much that I finally got in to them. Now they're one of my favorites.

Really? I think The Rival Cycle is badass, The Evidence is great, The War Of All Against All is fucking great, ...Then I Defy You Stars is amazing. This Armistice is probably my favorite song of 2005, Broadcast Quality is major standout track, Flee The Factory is the lesser track(still love it), Dead Men Tell No Tales fucking rock the boat, Venona is just plain coolio. I love the album to death.
