I am going to have to disagree with you there. They are definately overhyped, but they do not suck. Meg may not be the most talented drummer, but Jack is a great guitarist and songwriter.

Ok let me rephrase this. For the amount of hype the White Stripes get, you'd think they were doing something truly spectacular. But I can't tell them from the Hives, the Strokes, the Vines or any of those other "the" bands. Maybe if they did something to stand out, I'd like them more.

I've heard like two of their songs, they were coupled in with the Strokes and The Vines and The Hives on MTV2. I didn't really like it and I didn't pay much attention. But I couldn't tell much of a difference based of their one song apiece. I also didn't much care for them (as may be evident). And the frontman is in no way the most badass guy in rock.

It's not at all surprising if you've read Spin. You can't fault Spin's list for not being the same thing that NME, Q, Pitchfork, or any other outlet would compile, because they are different publications. I don't think any of those people are seriously undeserving.

that list is funny and I must disagree with the majority of it.

I also highly dislike the White Stripes because i find his voice annoying as fuck. I dont care for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's either. And the Donnas lyrics are terrible (in my opinion), however, their little drummer kicks some ass on those drums.

I read that article while I was in a bookstore. I chuckled, put the magazine back on the rack, and proceeded to the exit. The list isn't that great, although I must say, I'd like to see The Flaming Lips live, the costumes, the balloons...oh, and the music.
