i hear about all these bands but have never heard there music?? can you tell me what they sound like and which of them is worth actually listening to?!!
-saosin
-bleed the dream
-longshot hero
-the anniversary
-the new amsterdams
-folly
-acceptance
thanks!!
Im too lazy for any of the other ones.
New amsterdams of course sound like the get up kids. Only a little slower, and less emphasis on the rest of the band and more emphacsis on the guitar and vocals. Worth a listen.
saosin- refuse to listen to them because of the ungodly hype, feel quite content to never hear them.
longshot hero - apparently some pa ska band that one dude on this board jocks like it's his job.
the anniversary - were a cool moog-rock band until they decided to be a psychedilic band, dropped from Vagrant in a spat that rivals the Midtown/Drive-thru tiff.
the new amsterdams - a lot more like On a Wire that earlier GUK stuff.
folly - local Jersey band with a strong following. Though, they have sort of ridden the same album for a while now. Nonetheless, a fun hardcore band. Good for dancing.

Why don't you just go and d/l a song or two by each band... it doesn't take that long.

Well, the New Amsterdams are alright, I suppose I would say you ought to listen. But only if you like the direction the Get Up Kids are taking.
Folly is sort of a joke to a lot of people in state. People tend to love or hate them.
The Anniversary's Designing a Nervous Breakdown was really enjoyable.
Maybe later I'll add some other bands that you didn't express curiosity about, but may be up your alley.

The Only band on here that I have heard/seen is acceptance and they are amazing. All of their songs are structured so perfectly and the songs lyrics are amazing.

-saosin -- i dont know where these guys came from but absolutepunk.net promotes them alot...im not really a fan of their music
-bleed the dream -- great band, great music...i think they are the current next big thing
-longshot hero -- my favorite band, their first CD sucks in terms of quality, i heard the new one is amazing - a must have for anyone who likes ska punk
-folly -- NJ metal core punk emoish...i just downloaded their stuff for the first time...its pretty cool

saosin - I'm currently LOVING this band...if you like harder bands like a static lullaby or the used, definitely for you. download "seven years", i'm pretty confident you'll thank me later.
bleed the dream - i like the one song i've heard, which is "overcrowded room"
longshot hero - no clue
the anniversary - their stuff is ok, but the bit i heard didn't drive me to go listen to more
new amsterdams - they're ok, but then again, i dislike the guk
folly - not bad if you like harder stuff with a lot of screaming
acceptance - a great band, whom i'm also currently loving...every song i've heard of theirs is really good. download "seeing is believing" and "permanent".

Saosin - bunch of guys from former bands (i.e., drummer use to be in Open hand) who got this one going, with the vocals being high it kind of reminds me of Coheed
Bleed The Dream - Taking Back Sunday meets Finch in my opinion, great live show, great EP, pick it up, worth the listen (www.bleedthedream.com)
Long Shot Hero - ska band (all that needs to be said)

everyone pretty much summed up all those bands
although saosin is always talked about on ap.net.. how many people actually like them and listen to them? i do and i love them and they are great live.. but still not too many people actually like them here. so i dont see what all this talk is about
yea folly is definately a new jersey thing
In my opinion, the only band worth checking out is The Anniversary.
