Listen to a mash-up of Panic! at the Disco (http://www.absolutepunk.net/panicaththedisco)'s "I Write Sins.." and Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" here (http://www.myspace.com/thescienceofthesea).

not that i mind some panic, it's ok to me, kind of a guilty pleasure, but i'd rather kill myself than listen to this.

that mr. kelly song i've had on my computer for years. im not sure if it was produced by the bands or made by a fan on the fob message board, but i've seriously had that for a long time. so either this guy engineered it a long time ago, or he's a fraud

That's the 8 mile song, not Gwen. Perhaps an even worse mix.

Why is this on the front page of AP news? Should a mash-up of every band that appears on this site appear on here? I think that if anyone wants to hear some decent mash-ups, they should either listen to The Legion Of Doom, Girl Talk, or Dean Gray: American Edit.

Here's a brilliant idea I came up with about 4 years ago:
stop watching MTV and listening to FM radio.

this sounded like it had potential but no its just bad.

No, the beat is Hollaback Girl.
(joeyman)
04/30/07, 12:35 AM
and what is the "mr. kelly" thing? is he the guy that originally made the mash-up?

those mash-ups are bad... it's funny b/c people in the replies (in the myspace) actually like it...

Thank you, someone finally realized that.

Actually, no. That wasn't my point. I listen to things MTV and the radio play, just not on MTV or the radio.
My point is you can't complain about a song getting overplayed because of MTV or the radio when you're not forced to watch or listen to them. A song hasn't gotten overplayed for me in years unless I personally overplayed it.
You know what MTV and radio are all about, so you can't complain.

same here, i dont get burnt out on songs much any more because i dont listen to popular radio or music channels aside from the occasional live performances.

No, the beat is Hollaback Girl.
it sounds more like a generic beat than the Hollaback Girl beat. either way, beat or not, it's crap.
...mashed with Eminem? Strange.
prior to listening, i was kind of scared. fortunately, it really wasn't bad. thankfully, most of the elements of "hollaback girl" were left out. i don't understand why eminem was mashed with the other two songs, though.

i can complain all i damn well want
but no really, i see what youre saying. just sometimes it isnt as simple as changing the station or whatever. its like you walk across campus and every other car that drives by is playing Panic! or everytime you turn around their stuff is being promoted like its the best thing since peanut butter or something. things like that.
i commend you on being able to avoid the overdose. i have yet to be so fortunate
plus- mtv and clearchannel have reach way beyond just the normal tv/FM radio avenue. advertisements, commercials, sporting events... whatever. they are pretty much everywhere

The Jay-Z mash up isn't bad. Its the only one that comes off like a full song and not a series of random clips smashed together.

People seem to be hating this.
It's mixed with Nas - If I Ruled The World, Eminem - Lose Yourself, Gwen Stefani's song, Panic's song, and ANOTHER song that I can't identify, right after the Panic parts. He's definitely playing off the Girl Talk vibe, and it's not as bad as you guys are making it out to be.
"Bitter Shoulders" is my favorite thus far.

I think that what he is creating is wonderful. He is a musical genious. His remixes unite the rap/hip hop culture with the rock culture. I think his work is amazing and he should definitaley keep it up.
