View Full Version : In Need of Experience Tour People
Hey people,
My friend Nikki already posted a bulletin about iTour, but its my turn.
I'm a tour manager looking to help other people get out on the road. I want PROFESSIONAL people to work with. No girls looking to meet dudes. No "kids" looking to "hang out" with bands. I want people who know what they're doing, and can do it right.
As of right now, I don't have a website for it yet, but I do have a myspace going. All you have to do is add it, leave a "resume" as a comment, and hopefully a band will see it and write you back. I've been blessed with amazing networking, and I'd like to help other people get the same. If you don't land on tour, don't give up, it takes time and patience.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hopefully, we'll be speaking soon.

looks way unprofessional
yeah well, its myspace, not exactly a real webpage, so you work with what you got for the time being.

remove the scene dude and get a logo going.
Why the laughter? I've already got several labels/bands interested in this project, so.....

I need to tour manage and/or sell merch. My GM at the label (a very well known indie label) and several others have told me that tour managing is what I need to do next to take the next step for my career in music. :-|
This is true. I won't name names, but several friends of mine are now working for major bands on "independent" labels, and make anywhere from $900 a week, up to as much as $1800 a week. Granted they are also the sound person too.
But since you work for a label, my suggestion is to try and do some intercompany networking, talk to the bands on the label, and see if they, or someone they've toured with, are in need of tour support, and go from there.
And take it from me, don't expect to make $900 a week right away. My first four or five tour managing duties paid me nothing, literally. So patience becomes a real virtue.

With a myspace like that, good luck getting taken seriously, regardless who you claim is already showing interest.
If anybody is interested, I heard through the grapevine that TREOS is looking for some help on the road. I haven't had a chance to talk to them or their management yet to confirm it, but a dependable source, and touring band member that is buddy buddy with TREOS mentioned it.
So I'd say hit them up and fight out if its true.
I also heard Madina Lake is looking for a merch person. So I'd hit them up to.
And if anybody reading this hears of any rumored openings, feel free to write them here, or send them to myspace.com/itour.

Well, I won't lie. I don't know how to do sound checks or lighting, but I can do guitar tech work

bands network within their friends. don't expect to get a gig with a band you've never met unless you have credentials.

very true. all the bands I know are local however. lol
You'd be surprised actually. Label people are always asking people if they know of anybody who can work for their band because 60% of the time the current crew sucks or is unprofessional.
Trust me.

Trust me.hence the "credentials" remark I made.
Some people are such downers...
"Hate hate hate hate."
My suggestion to all interested in being on the road, is to email the bands management and label, ask if there are any openings and whatnot, and get a response, and go from there, its how I started out, and I'm now working my third year of Warped Tour.
