Kerrang gives loads of albums 5/5. Why's this worthy of news?

i agree, totally not news worthy because lets be fair, kerrang would give funeral a 5/5 if the album was complete silence, there are some bands that kerrang wouldn't dare say a word wrong about all because the young kids like the bands.

"Into Oblivion" is a wonderful song, and I love both Casually Dressed... and Hours, so I know this is going to be great.

Kerrang likes Aiden, sooooo all opinion from them is no longer valid.

Still interested in hearing this album. Hopefully it's not bad different. I could see that happening after Hours, which I liked, but was different from earlier material.

Exactly, I do believe the company behind Kerrang get payment and sponsorship for giving albums higher ratings and they deserve, thus not actual valid opinion.

5/5 means shit when it's given by KERRANG! especially for a FFAF album. Both NME and KERRANG! really don't know where the music starts and fashion ends; they both know shit about music, they just latch onto trends and bands, pretend like they discovered it/them, then market them to shit, then start to hate on them and act like they never liked it anyway! Oh, and pleasing 14 year old UK hipster/scenester kids... the mainstream British music press is fucking clown shoes, excluding maybe 2 publications. And one last thing, 'Oblivion' sounds like a bad U2 song. A really bad U2 song. The lyrics are so awful... It's shit.

i kinda agree with them not crossing bands that are popular at the time. But i dont think 'Hours' got a 5/5.

The lyrics work better with the rest of the album .. there's some great lyrical content in some of the songs. I love the line, "under Christian stars ..."

Ok, well I think the problem there is that song as a single choice doesn't make me want to check out the rest of the album. And if it's a sign of what the rest of the album is like, it's saved me from wasting my time. I appreciate that people will like this album for it's "progression" or "change of direction", I just think this is recognition of the fact that I've never been happy with anything FFAF have done since there first 2 EPs - and that was a long time ago now! Time for me to call quits on this band. No big loss IMO.

Well, I know personally, I never judge an album by the single. But I understand there are those that do. Either way -- it's not really a "sign" of what the rest of the album is like ... but it's the first track, and it sets the stage for the rest of the songs. "Out of Reach (http://streamos.atlrec.com/wmedia/atlantic/funeralforafriend/outofreach.wax)" is more indicative of the rest of the CD.

The album is absolutely nothing like their first two EPs - there's no screaming, at all. It's basically a very "big" sounding rock album.

I like it ... not something I'd consider my favorite of the year ... but something I'd rather listen to than a bunch of other things I've gotten recently, that's for sure.
