Great band.
I'd say that Kingwood is one of my favorite punk albums.

Definatley a very fun band to listen to, plus, as the near-hour long "making of" vid that came with Kingwood displays, they're fun people.

Plus, one of their songs reminds me of this really special girl (excuse the pesonal bit there haha)

so, anyway, let's discuss...

pennybridge pioneers is one of my all time favorite cds.

i have to listen "fox" almost daily, or i'll keep singing it nonstop.

I actually don't have Pennybridge Pioneers, but I do have a song or two downloaded off of it. It does seem like a really good record.

i got through the summer of '00 listening to FOR MONKEYS and PENNYBRIDGE PIONEERS nonstop. i bonded with our singer ryan because i used to blast PENNYBRIDGE in our dorm room when i was showering. he was blown away that someone else knew who they were.

watching millencolin every day of warped tour '05 was one of the best memories of my life.

i guess i kinda like 'em.

Millencolin is a great band, and every album they put out is amazing.

I think Life on a Plate is a CLASSIC album that every fan of pop-punk should have in their collection. "For Monkeys" is a pretty damn fun album, and I can never get "Boring Planet" or "Lozin Must" out of my head...

With all this being said, "Pennybridge Pioneers" is most definitely Millencolin's best album...and not many bands can top this CD. You're missing out if you are a fan of Millencolin and you don't own this CD.

I also used to REALLY HATE "Home from Home", because it seemed like too much "rock" and not enough "punk." However, all the songs from "Home from Home" sound phenomenal live and I gained a new appreciation for this CD after I saw Millencolin for the first time. Now, my favorite Millencolin song of all time is on this CD, TRACK 8, "Happiness for Dogs." I know this seems like an odd choice for a favorite Millencolin song, but I can really relate to the lyrics in this song and I find myself listening to it a lot.

And oh yeah...."Kingwood" rocks way too hard too :)

Life on a Plate is a classic album, but it just sounds "dated" now compared to Pennybridge Pioneers.

I suppose we can just say its a toss up then, because I don't think any other fan would pick another Millencolin album, as number one, over these two.

I think Pennybridge may have been what got a lot of people into Millencolin, and then after they discovered their earlier albums...I mean I thought PP was alright but a bit of a dissapointment...

Life On A Plate and For Monkeys are my fave albums. They should never have stopped putting 3 or 4 ska songs on each album. Their ska songs are fun as hell. Pennybridge is really good, but isn't the best pop/punk album of all time, like many people are saying. But each unto their own i guess.

Yeah, I know what you mean. There's several albums I own by different bands, and I wouldn't really say I'm a fan, since I only own one album from them. But I do own a few Millencolin releases, so yeah, I'd consider myself a fan.

I don't see why people think Pennybridge is their best, but maybe it's an age thing. For me, it's without question For Monkeys. Even if you take away the goofy songs on that record, I still think it's the most solid.

I love that record so much. Boring Planet, Lowlife, Twenty Two, all rad songs. Did you listen to it right when it came out or several years later? I admit complete bias towards that album because it came out right when I fell in love with punk - but none of their other ones topped it for me.

Kid Defender

I bought that cd back in... hmm... 2000 I think. Yeah, that was it because I remember buying Pennybridge when I saw them at the 2000 Warped Tour and then going crazy over finding all Millencolin releases that I could. Maybe i'll give it another listen tonight. Sometimes cds impact you even more years later.

Ah, I see. It's definitely different for you then. It's one of the reasons a lot of MxPx fans don't like Life in General as much as Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo, even though I think Life in General is without question a better record. For Monkeys may not actually be the better record, but it had a greater impact on me and I still can't connect to any other Millencolin album like I can that one.

Pennybridge has a more polished sound and was one of my first 'punk' albums. It's my favorite Millencolin release.

Polished is often worse when it comes to mid to late 90s pop-punk in my opinion.

Nowadays I prefer a more raw sound but when I was just starting to listen to this kind of music, it was just easier to adapt. Bullion is such a good song but it would have probably been too angry for my tastes years ago.

Home From Home is such an underrated album.

All I've got is Pennybridge Pioneers and it's good, easy-listening stuff even though Millencolin aren't that musically talented. Case in point, the only guitar solo in Pennybridge Pioneers wasn't even done by the guitarist; they got a separate guitarist to come in and do it. The drumming is average too. Still, I like it!

Millencolin have done some great stuff, I think For Monkeys will always be my favorite. When I was first learning guitar I played along with Pennybridge Pioneers a lot, oh sweet memories. Best band out of Sweden... in fact, the only band I'm aware I know from Sweden.

To me that is a wierd combo but each to their own

My order would be

Saw millencollin the ohter week & they were on form played a really good mix of old & new & even went as far back as some stuff of plate & tunes

CellarGhosts

Meh, as of now I would list them as something like:

Pennybridge Pioneers > Life On a Plate > Home From Home = For Monkeys > Kingwood > Machine 15 = Same Old Tunes.

So it's not drastically different but it is little. Still weird, probably, haha. I can't help but like Kingwood.
