Could you please state your names and positions in the band?
Blake Means - Guitar, Ryan Edwards - Guitar, Chad Atkinson - Vocals/Bass, Danni Valencia - Drums
How did the band start?
Blake and Chad played in a band before; then they needed a second guitarist so Ryan took that postition, and Danni filled in as the drummer guy.
What are the band’s plans for the future?
We have a Split EP with Bayside coming out March 25th (2003) on Dying Wish Records. We have a CD release show at Chain Reaction on March 14th (2003). And we plan to be touring this summer. Who knows with who.. labels? What?!
Being such a young band, have you found it hard to be taken seriously in the industry?
Yes, because we are just babies and people try to push us around, but then Ryan acts all big and tough, so they leave us alone. Some people take us as a joke, but that should change soon. Or else!!!
Where do you want to take this band?
EVERYWHERE; As far as people will let us take the band.
Can you walk us through the song creation process?
We mess around until something cool happens. If someone has something, we just work with it until it’s decent, then we change it again a month later and add some Chad to the mix. Lyrics seem to always come last because Chad lags. He’d rather wait until he was inspired -- but that never happens.
How do you feel the internet has helped you as a band?
A LOT.. especially www.absolutepunk.net (http://www.absolutepunk.net) .. free promotion. The internet rocks the socks off kids, and if we’re in on it then it’s that much better.
How are you juggling school, and the band?
School’s almost out, lets not worry about that. Yay, no more school in June, so let's rock that much more! Chad is sick of doing homework, he wants out.
If you had to pick a favorite song you have recorded what would you pick?
A Year Spent Cold and our new song I Quit My Scene
What’s your favorite song to play live?
A Year Spent Cold and Magnolia
Where does the inspiration for the lyrics come from?
We don’t have any. Well .. meaning comes with age, and at 18 we do the best we can, they’ll get better though. Chad can’t say where inspiration comes from, he wishes he knew too.
