I have been making mixtapes for about the past year or so. I have made about 20 to 30 for friends and other people, but I've only made 2 for me and only received about 15 to 25. Here I will post a variety of mixtapes I have made, received, given etc. for download.
I get this is very very very similar to Clayton's Mixtape Thread (http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=828242) in this same forum, but that thread was an inspiration for me to begin spreading my mixtapes all around the web for people who want to hear them. Also, I don't have special artists or anything, but maybe I'll get to that as the days move on.
I will post some of the artists on the mix like Clayton does so you don't know too much about it, but you also won't download ones you hate, and sometimes I will post full tracklistings if the mix is too short or for other reasons.
Please feel free to give feedback, suggestions, requests etc. Enjoy and feel free to give these mixes to your friends, or whatever you have in mind. :)

One Hit Wonders to Sing - Blink-182, All Time Low, Yellowcard, Sparks the Rescue, Boys Like Girls, The Starting Line

This is a mixtape I made this year for the summer. I thought against posting this, but I truly that felt summer joy should be spread to everybody who is willing to accept it. It contains both lyrical summer songs as well as songs that capture the mood of the season. Please keep in mind this is not a beach mixtape, but some tracks overlap with what would go on my, as of now, non-existant, “day at the beach” mixtape.
Part 3: Just One Night - Nada Surf, The Maine, Panic! At the Disco

This is Part 3. Basically these are my concept mixtape/mixtape operas. Part 1 was a mixtape for my friend’s birthday and all of the music was tied together very well, albeit unintentionally, by similar musical genres and tones, so I made a story out of them, and it worked for the most part, but he didn’t get it. Part 2 was another birthday mixtape, but to a friend of mine who listens to opera/classical music on a regular basis, so I created a mixtape opera of more mainstream music for him, and he understood the story more than the Part 1 friend. I don’t have the complete track listings for either, so this is Part 3 so I can hold up the legacy of the first two. Part 3 tells a story about 2 people that meet for the first time hanging out with friends and go through a journey of emotions and fun through the night in their small town/suburb on a brisk fall night, so basically, its Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, with a few story changes, but think about it however you would like.

The first mixtape I ever received. It infused a sort of madness within me, which led me to an obsession, which led me here. Basically, it was really something to get a CD of songs to put on my Zune that were by more than one artist. It’s probably one of the best mixes I’ve heard even after hearing so many. All the tracks have an electro influence to them starting off indie-ish and transitions into a full on electronic/dance section which truely makes you want to turn off the lights and jump, before ending with hip-hop influenced tracks. It has just enough variety to keep someone new to electronic interested while still keeping those who like electronic like me looking for more.

Disappear - Panic! At the Disco, Bishop Allen, Foster the People, Jimmy Eat World, Yellowcard

This mix is very different from the kind of mixtapes I usually make, as this one contains many songs from a small sampling of artists. A lot of these songs are from newer albums, and there are 2 TV show theme songs, and a few double artists, and a few singles. I don’t have much else to say about it, so I hope you enjoy it.

Good Things - Motion City Soundtrack, Sparks the Rescue, Nada Surf, The Maine, Man Overboard

I started making this with no inspiration, but as I started to decode the original final product like I usually do, I noticed a sad and happy vibe split across the mix, so I decided to keep the happy and it sounded like for a day at the beach, so I added onto it and here’s what came from it. I like to think of this as more a beach mixtape more than anything else since it keeps a summery vibe, but with less (but of course some) unintended nostalgia. Sure it isn’t perfect, but it gets the job done.

Killing Time - A Surprise

This was made to do exactly what the title implies. I wanted to make a 15 song mix because that is my normal mix length, but I wasn't sure how to do it, so I put my Zune on shuffle and put the first 15 songs that came up that weren't from other mixes I've downloaded/received/made onto it. Then after changing the flow and song order, I only killed about 7 minutes of time.

After getting her first mix, I got really into the whole mixtape concept, so me, her and a few other buds of mine decided to have a mixtape day where we would make one mix for everyone and distribute them. It was supposed to be May 7, but no one remembered so we tried to gave them to each other the next Monday, and the concept of a mixtape Monday was born for us, even though only 2 of us had them on time (I was about a month late). This is again a very electronic/indie mix, and a very fitting sequel to the first mix.

Part 4: Natural Progression - The Dangerous Summer, Keane, Nada Surf
http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lpd0vpMfMB1qjkfrb.jpg (http://www.mediafire.com/?88j0wd84pgj46sg)
This is Part 4. I don't want to give away the story I've come up with on this mix, but its more personal than Part 3. It tells an semi-autobiographical story of how different people and music helped me become a better person. It wasn't this music that helped me, but my new found love for music which helped me change myself in the first place.

Okay so I'll probably have one or two up in the next week.
Think along the lines of either hipster or pop punk.
