this is what I have (and can remember) of the setlists and my reviews from day 1 (may 5th) of the bamboozle festival at giants stadium in new jersey. If you are going to see any of these bands, sets were only 30 to 40 minutes so these lists would be a good way of figuring out what they're definitaley going to play. sorry for not having sets from those bands that everyone loves like saves the day or bayside, there's just a bunch of stuff about both of those bands that piss me off, dont mind them but i didnt feel the urge to listen to their cd's nonstop to prepare to see them like i did with some of this other stuff
Boys Like Girls were an awesome way to start out the day on the mainstages. They have just the right amount of energy for each of their songs. This was my second time seeing them, my only issue with their set was that hey didn't play "up against the wall" which is my favorite of their songs, but they usually play it when they have more time for a set, so that could be something to count on.
Grade: A
Set List(in the best order that i can remember)
Five Minutes to Midnight
Dance Hall Drug
Hero/Heroine
New Song (I Think)
Thunder
The Great Escape
Since the other of the two mainstages always starts immediatley after the set on the other stage ends (if not sooner) i missed the beggining of Cute Is What We Aim For's set. I understand that Cute is one of those bands piss a lot of people off but they are honestly pretty fun to see live, although i must say, i was one of the few people in the crowd who wasnt a 13 or 14 year old girl. Little woman lead singer had pretty good stage pressence, although he did move around and tried to do a little too much with the mic but he wasnt as much of a douchebag as a lot of people make him out to be.
Grade B/B+
Setlist(got their late because of time it took to walk accros, and i needed a water)
Curse of Curves
Sweet Talk 101
Risque
Sweat the Whatever
There's A Class for This
Silverstein was pretty much only remotely hard core band on either of the mainstages, i didn't really pay any attention to their set, and i also didnt know much other than stuff from discovering the waterfront, not their biggest fan but i dont mind them.
Grade: Didn't See Enough to Give it a Grade
Setlist (in bits and pieces with gaps)
My Heroine (i think i heard it from far away)
Fist Wrapped in Blood
Smile In Your Sleep
At least two new songs
Ended apparently with what they always end with, it was an old one that i didn't know
Cartel played the best set i've seen from them yet. My 1st time seeing them, it was at warped on the tiny ernie ball stage which contained them, and the 2nd time it was in burlington, vt and none of them gave a shit about being in vermont. But at bamboozle they had a big stage and a huge crowd watching them so i guess they gave a shit because their was a lot of energy in their set and will didn't look pissed off the whole time like he did the other 2 times i saw them. They didn't play "write this down" or "matter of time" which are my 2 favorite songs of theirs, but they made up for it by making the rest of the songs awesome to listen to.
Grade: A
Setlist:
Lucky Street
Burn This City
If I Fail
Runaway
Say Anything Else
Honestly
I missed the first one or two songs of The Starting Line set, they played a bunch of stuff from "say it like you mean it", which...while it might be all original and adored, i just don't like as much as "based on a true story", they also played "inspired by the $" which is prolly my least favorite songs of theirs. they were still great though, real excited and kenny's hair was all curly and he didn't look like a greasy douchebag
Grade: B+ (because of my preference of song choice)
Setlist (i got there near the end of surprise, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise
Up and Go
Inspired By the $
Almost There, Going Nowhere (i think)
New Song...name started with a "D"
The Best of Me
Say Anything was pretty cool to see live just because i never think of them as a 5 piece, just i only really think about the lead singer when i listen to them because all of their songs are so self involved and its weird to think about there being a "rest of the band"
Grade: A-
Setlist
Alive With The Glory of Love
Woe
A Couple of Songs from ...Is A Real Boy that i didn't know
WOW (i can do w/e too)
Admit It
I wathced a little bit of MC Hammer, not enough to put a setlist together (kinda because no one knows his songs at all) but his set was bad ass, he had all these dancers in neon colored costumes, it was like a music video.
New Foung Glory, as always, put on awesome show. They played a shit load of old stuff, which i know everyone else loves and i dig how they do that for their fans. I dont have much of "sticks and stones" and w/e came before it so i didnt know many of the songs, i wish they would play more stuff from catalyst and coming home, i think those are pretty good albums that get pushed down by that desire for the old stuff that im too lame to understand, they still rocked their shit though.
Grade: A
Setlist
All Downhill From Here
Old Song
Hold My Hand
Truth of My Youth
Hit or Miss
Old Song

My Friends Over YouThe Almost is a band i have taken a big liking to in the time leading up to the show, they're what i like about underoath...Aaron's singing. They're underoath toned down a little with a little bit more...artistic-ness. While they played on a smaller stage (this was the only band i didnt see on a main stage) Aaron had as a big a stage pressence as any main stage band. He was loud and able to hold his voice through the long drawn out notes on "amazing because it is" and is acctaully a pretty good guitar player...he pretty much does everything, + drums in another, even bigger band. i was at their signing earlier in the day and they were the only band that i met that i acctualy got to talk to, they were all really chill and weren't like "oh i signed your shit, what else do you want" they asked questions, and made conversation, i think they kinda dug how many people showed up for them, they kinda had a case of what +44 gets because of their own previously famous members.
Grade: A+
Setlist (might be out of order)
I Mostly Copy Other People
Drive There Now
Southern Weather
Never Say I Told You So
Everything That Makes Me Sick
Amazing Because It Is
Say This Sooner
After the Almost, i headed back to the mainstage for what was left of Hellogoodbye (i had already seen hellogoodbye two weeks earlier in montreal, so i chose to see the full set of the almost...good choice). Hellogoodbye was as they usually are, crazy and goofy, with all the roadies and chicks running around in costumes of food. I wish they would play Two Weeks In Hawii, they usually dont even play it at a full headlining set.
Setlist (got there in the middle of all of your love, about halfway thru)
All of Your Love
Stuck To You
Bonnie Taylor
Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn
Tuchdown Turnaround
Here In Your Arms
I skipped the Muse set on the 2nd main stage to keep my spot for My Chemical Romance who got a 90 minute set. All of the shit they get aside, MCR is fucking amazing live. They had fire and spark walls and two drum sets on a little revolving platform. I was really into three cheers, and got kidna bummed after that video for "welcome to the black parade", but i got the whole album a few weeks before the show and got pretty into a bunch of the songs like "house of wolves" and "dead", so it was an awesome set for me.
Grade: A
Setlist:
The Black Parade All the Way Through, In Order
(Encore Break) Blood from the CD over the speakers.
Give Em Hell Kid
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prsion When We Drop the Soap
Cemetery Drive
Helena
