I went with U2 this time. I had a hard time deciding between them and The Cure, but I just felt like U2 deserved it.

Started in 1983yea but when you think of RHCP you think of the 90's. Just thought it was stretching the term of "classic rock". I guess it's showing how old we are getting

Caspel

yeah I am stretching the term, but if I included one band from the 1983, I had to include them all is how I viewed it. Locally, I hear RHCP on the classic rock station.

Funny, because Nirvana and Radiohead formed in 86 and 87 but you didn't include them?

I think its lame to include RHCP and not include those two bands who changed the face of music.

unluess you are going to by releases, then I could understand.

um... my stopping point was 1985... Guns N Roses weren't included either. There's another band that will be debuting in the next wildcard round that some people may feel shouldn't be labeled as classic rock, but yeah... they formed in 1985 and will be included in a wildcard round.

The Cure-- I grew up listening to them and still listen to them.
The Cure would also be my pick if i could see any of them live right now.
...Actually, Led Zeppelin or Johnny Cash would be pretty awesome right now...
