A piece of art done by Drew Roulette (http://www.dredg.com) (Dredg) was chosen to be part of the Reader Art section Juxtapoz (http://www.juxtapoz.com/img/readerart/07/0507/drewroulette.jpg). It was a piece that was done for The Sound of Animals Fighting (http://www.absolutepunk.net/thesoundofanimalsfighting) record which will be released in June.

i read here (http://www.soundthesirens.com/articles/index.php?id=8,569,0,0,1,0) about the possible third album so i expected it eventually but not so soon.

i saw the dvd last night, it was pretty good so i look forward to a new record.

I don't think it's a new album...I heard Tiger and the Duke was being re-released in June on Equal Vision...this could be new artwork. I dunno, that's just what I think, could be wrong.

Regardless, the artwork is damn cool.

I will bet money this isn't true. And if it is, i will bet double or nothing that Anthony and Craig had no part in it. Circa has been on tour and recording non stop all year and the new record is about to drop. I promise he has NO time to do this. Chiodos has been writing and recording all year and their album isn't even finished. So he hasn't had time either. Not to mention there has been no word of any TSOAF activity besides this DVD?? Remember how huge the hype was for the last album?? Come on guys...I'm not buyin it.

Edit: My money is on the re-release, which would still be sweet.

pshhhhh that would make my Tiger and the duke version be less cool... cept i bought mine on valentines day '04. with original artwork

hmmmmmm i guess it wouldn't be so bad...
but yes new TSOAF would be so AMAZING.

Looks like you are right:
This is a re-issue of the 2005 release. This re-release of "Tiger And The Duke" also includes eight bonus remixes from "Lover The Lord Has Left Us," all performed by various artists with brand new artwork and packaging. This is a must have for fans of The Sound of Animals Fighting.

amen to that. they shouldn't even be associated with tsoaf. dredg is on SUCH a different level.

i dont beleive its true either, and im sure its just the rerelease.. but it would be plenty possible since TSOAF albums are written/recorded in one day, if i remember correctly.

It might be a real release (though I doubt it because it's hard to keep a release like that under wraps up till a month or so before the release date, which they've done if said album is new) because that's the great thing about technology, you can record while on tour now, so all of this "well Anthony and Craig have been blah blah blah" doesn't mean anything. The Mars Volta recorded the majority of Amputechture while on tour and Frances The Mute was rec'd in 8 different parts of the world including Australia where Jon Theodore did his drum tracking, granted that Omar was present, it doesn't mean that they couldn't save the files and send it to where Anthony or Craig were while they were recording their albums respectively. Just saying.

i'm pretty sure it will just be a re-issue of tiger and the duke - but i do hope for another tsoaf cd! i can even wait till '08 but it has to be good, no need to rush with that.. and i hope for some more singers, and without anthony it wouldn't be the same band so...

i mean theyre not my favorite band, but holy shit. if you look into the concepts and philosophical art behind their music it's sheer brilliance. i wish more people took the time to turn music into art as they do.

You obviously suck at reading. The artist is the bassist in dredg... doing art for the TSOAF CD.

And it also in no place says that it's a new record... just that it's for the record due out in June.

not to mention their flawless live show. dino is retarded sick on the drums...and gavin never misses a note. just listen to their live album. its perfect.

anyway, dredg IS my favorite band, and I could go on forever about them but I won't. but trust me, buy el cielo, and if you're disappointed I'll give you your money back.

I have all of their albums, they're so epic. My brother is huge on them, he has their art posters framed in his room.
But yeah, I wish Dredg was as big as they deserve to be, do you know when their album is coming out?

No unfortunately I haven't heard anything, but I know they've been recording so I'm sure (hopefully) it will be out soon enough.
