Went to the 9:30 club show on Monday night. Overall it was a pretty sweet show, if you're into any of these bands the tour is a lot of fun. We showed up kinda late due to some food issues so we weren't that close to the front but we just chilled out. I was pretty impressed with Sherwood and Relient K (although they are predictably awesome live), but Mae fell a little short. The vocal performance by Mae's singer was pretty disappointing, although the crowd was into some of their more popular songs. Especially this one crazy older dude in the back who was breakin it down like no one else was in the room. Pretty great. Anyway, here are the setlists (the songs are in no particular order for the most part since that is just too much dang work to remember):

Sherwood
Only Song
Middle of the Night
The Town that you Live in
Learn to Sing
Song in my Head
The best in me
Never ready to leave

Mae
???
Summertime
Embers and Envelopes
This time is the last time
Waiting (new)
Anything
Suspension
This is the Countdown
Painless
Someone Else's Arms

Relient K
Forgiven
Best Thing
Must Have done something Right
Devastation and Reform
Faking My own suicide
The One I'm waiting for
High of 75
Who I am Hates Who I've been
Which to bury Us or the Hatchet / Let it all out
Life after death and taxes
Chapstick / Chapped lips / things like chemistry
Pink Tux
Surf Wax America (weezer cover)

Encore:
Sadie Hawkins Dance
Be My Escape
I so hate consequences

Overall pretty sweet. If anyone else went can someone identify the first song that Mae played? I didn't recognize it and they didn't say whether it is new or not.

Man, I wish I could've made it to this show. I've wanted to see MAE for so long, I guess I'll have to wait a little bit longer. Overall the combination of the bands seemed great in theory. I'm sure it brought in some crazy (annoying) fans though. Any of these bands would be great to see live regardless.

no Soundtrack For Our Movie or Skyline Drive?
also I've never seen them play Embers and Envelopes before
as I've seen them three times.

yeah, i saw them and i was kind of bummed that mae didnt play Soundtrack For Our Movie, but Sherwood was amazing. Can't wait to see them again at Cornerstone.

i had a ticket to see them on Tuesday in Baltimore, but i didn't go cause of finals. the main reason i wouldve gone was for sherwood and i knew that theyd play pretty much that exact set. i also got to see sherwood and relient k for free last month, so i wasnt too disappointed. but im glad you had a good time! and ive heard that mae has been opening with a new song, "Futuro", so maybe that was it?

Isn't Futuro on Destination:B-Sides? Which would make it not new.

I believe you are correct because it sounds familiar even though I never got around to getting Destination: B-Sides

oooh. futuro eh? I have not heard destination b sides so that's a possibility. they probably would have said something if it was a new song.

yeah sherwood was good but i dont like their new material. i was hoping they'd play 'i'll wait for you' or 'this airplane is a ribbon' i like those a lot. the new songs were kinda bland but 'the town that you live in' was really good live.

i havent heard destination: b-sides either, but i didnt know it was on there, so sorry - i guess it isnt new.

yea. i was hoping sherwood would have a headlining tour somewhat soon, considering their new cd came out. i know the relient k and motion city soundtrack tours will be good for them, but itd be nice to see them headlining and hearing older songs, even if its just a short tour.

Yeah Sherwood is a pretty young band though, they don't have the recognition that the bands headlining the tours have. Most of the kids didn't seem to know what was goin on when they were playing. Most of the people I went with had never heard of them either. So, maybe in time. I don't think I'd go if they were headlining, but they are a nice opening band for now.

i really dont understand why relient k neglects to play the song "i need you" off of five score, i think its the best song on the record, it sounds like it would fit nicely into their live show and they could easily replace faking my own sucide with it.

Yes...in fact SICMIA is the one they recorded recently in L.A.

Yeah but they had a pretty big set up for 'faking my own suicide' and then the weezer cover of 'surf wax america'. They bought a fake fire thing on ebay and were all like, we're gonna relax for two songs haha. It was pretty fun so i dunno. They could knock of a random other song from the album to fit it in, though.
