Oh what a beautiful day it was, mid-70 degree temperatures, not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely an amazing day for an outdoor concert.
18000+ gathered to witness what would be quite the thorough concert from start to finish.
And I couldnt be happier that this was the very first stop of the entire tour, meaning super energized bands, putting it all out on the line for the first show.
(a side note: I wanna thank FOB for making sure that all the venues had a GA standing 'pit' for their shows. I have been to Coors Ampitheatre before, never seen it layed out how it was tonight. The removing of a couple sections of chairs, truly made a difference. I would have been pretty upset if I had a specific seat for a FOB concert, its just not the same when you cant have a little pushing and jumping)
COBRA STARSHIP
Im not a fan of this band's music (mainly because im still upset about Gabe and Midtown) but they certainly know how to dance and have the crowd do the same. They warmed up the crowd well, which I suppose were their intentions. They got the GA pit to jump up and down, which looked a little silly because not even half the crowd had found their seats, so the venue was pretty empty. Overall a really decent set to warm up the crowd. And their final song, Bring It, is much better live with William from The Academy Is... coming out and singing along to his rightful part.
It's warmer in the basement
Being from New Jersey means never having to say you're sorry
It's amateur night at the apollo creed
The church of hot addiction
You cant be missed if you never go away
Keep it simple
Send my love to the dancefloor, i'll see you in hell (hey mister dj)
Bring It (snakes on a plane)
PAUL WALL
Im NOT a fan of him at all, sorry hip-hop fans. I just dont think songs that say your own name in it atleast 5 times EACH is quite my taste, but he is good at what he does. The crowd here in Colorado HATED his set, clearly the odd 'band' out. You could tell he felt uncomfortable as hell on stage when he kept asking for fans to put their hands in the air, and maybe 100 kids in the entire venue did(?) I felt bad for the guy, but hey, maybe he picked up some new fans... And sorry, I dont have the slightest clue for a set-list. He played about 6-7 'songs' and thats all I can give you..
THE ACADEMY IS...
I AM a fan of TAI and I was super excited to finally hear some new stuff live. The crowd was just finishing arriving as the sun was setting before TAI played. They came on with (finally) quite the roar of the crowd. But im not gonna lie, I was SUPER pissed, they played the shortest set of the night (or so it seemed). William is electric on stage, and made their performance a blast to watch, as usual. But I was pretty happy that they went with the old-new-old-new order of songs. But 7 songs, when Cobra head 8-9 is kinda a bummer in my eyes.

As of last week, I FINALLY picked up these guys' new record, but unfortunately am HORRIBLE with the names of songs (ill try my best when I list the songs). They came out to an amazing roar from the crowd, who had finally all arrived ready to rock. With random chants of "travis! travis!" and "Mark! Mark" they hit the stage tremendously with a bunch of energy. Overall a great performance by these guys (my actual first time seeing Mark and Travis, even though Blink 182 was such a big influence growing up, never got the chance to see them live) Now my list of songs are in order, but there will be a bunch of blanks (forgive me)

FALL OUT BOY
The number one reason I attended this show. My boys! I still get made fun of to this day for FOB being my favorite band, but sticking with them since TTTYG days back in 03, they have impressed me as I have watched them grow, and every step, to me, has been amazing. Im truly proud of these guys and the fact they are filling up 18000+ venues across the country. I just hope it goes on for years to come. FOB claimed this would be their "best rock show to date" and let me tell you, biased opinions aside, it truly was. Maybe they were to energized because it was the first show on date, or heck, maybe my biased opinion comes into play, but it was a blast watching them rock out to pyro explosions here, fireworks there and everything in between. They mixed up their set list quite well, I thought, still kinda bummed they dont play "Chicago is..." anymore. And they did NOT play a song off EOWYG, which is kinda sad, but needless to say, this tour WAS to promote Infinity on High, so that was expected. The setlist, for their hour and a half of playing, was pretty hard to remember, but this is what I got and im pretty dang sure I nailed the order and all...
Thriller
Grand Theft Autumn (Where is your boy)
Sugar We're Going Down
Of All The Gin Joints In All The World
Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued
Hum Hallelujah
I Slept With Someone In FOB And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me
Golden
A Little Less 16 Candles, A Little More Touch Me
Tell Mick That He Just Made My List Of Things To Do Today
XO
I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)
This Aint A Scene, It's An Arms Race
The Carpal Tunnel of Love
Than Came an intermission, where Dirty, the host, came out in a Colorado Rockies baseball jersey, as they set up behind him a pitching machine (for batting cages) and he asked the crowd who wanted to see him get nailed with baseballs. He took a girl from the crowd, the do the honors (who received the blood signed poster from FOB for doing so) and she put the balls in the machine, as Dirty got nailed in the chest by fastballs. Pretty funny stuff. He got the crowd chanting "mother fuckin F.O.B" as they returned to the stage for their encore.
The Take Over, The Breaks Over
Dance, Dance
Timbaland remix song
Beat It (Michael Jackson Cover)

Saturday
Im really glad FOB stuck to their roots finishing with Saturday, Pete grabbing the microphone and jumping into the crowd, as confetti and fireworks exploded behind him. The lighting, pyro techs, fireworks, and everything that went into the show for FOB truly did make it quite the show to remember. This tour was solid from start to finish, and id recommend going and checking it out if your on the fence still. As a concert fan, id be on the fence if only seat tickets were available, but being that I had GA Pit tickets against the stage, made it feel like the FOB I have grown to love.
(PS im gonna have some pics I took posted on my myspace (lame I know) because I dont know how to post them here. Its gonna be on my personal myspace if anyone is curious under my photos, I will have a seperate album up in a little bit www.myspace.com/yesilovemusic (http://www.myspace.com/yesilovemusic) I hope this was a decent review for everyone)
