but i am only talking about villains from movies based on comics.

who was the best?

and who was the worst?

even though i do like the way venom was portrayed in the new spiderman. i think i have to go with the joker from batman. jack nicholson did an incredible job bringing the joker to the big screen.

i despised how they made phoenix in the newest x-men movie. i was so disappointed with what they did. they could have made her so cool...or at least somewhat like the comic. but nooo...they destroyed her for me. and destroyed the series.

Jack Nicholson by far and away

Jack Nicholson is by far the best comic book villan portrayed on the big screen.

The worst would have to be Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin. That whole movie was just horrible.

A toss up between The Joker and The Penguin for me

and Mr. Freeze or Poison Ivy were the worst....or the Riddler

im kinda nervous about the new batman. i have no idea how they will bring the joker to life. not to mention whoever is playing the joker (heath ledger i think?) has a big role to live to.

Gotta go with Jack. I think Dafoe played a pretty good Goblin.

I hated the entire X-Men series. That shit was terrible.

Heath might be good. Not nearly as good as Jack. But I have hope.

Oh. I did love Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. I hated Gene Hackman.

I have no doubt that the new batman will be just as good as the first.

i think he's going to do fine, w/ Nolan directing i think he's really going to capture the darkside of the Joker.

i think he'll have spots of that, but no where near jack's, you're right in that.

i say this in every thread where nicholson gets praised for batman, but he was entirely overrated as the joker.

he played jack nicholson in white makeup. jim carrey's riddler was a better joker than nicholson was.

i watched that movie this morning, he was perfectly cast for the part, but the movie overall made his performance forgetable

Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow in Batman Begins or Jude Law as Harlen Maguire in Road to Perdition. Not over the top, just awesome. Also Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins. Did I mention I liked Batman Begins a wee bit?

Amen. That's an incredibly underrated performance in a generally overlooked movie.

After Batman Begins, I am confident the next two movies will be good.

Mmmm, couldn't agree more with Murphy and Neeson. I enjoyed them just as much, if not more than Nicholson.
