So, I have a PSP, but I NEVER use it. This summer I'll be going on a painfully long road trip with my family and I'm looking for some quality entertainment to take with me. For those of you who still pay attention to new releases, are there any must have PSP titles coming out before August?

I believe I tried that, but my firmware is too recent to run emulators on. I don't want to run the risk of voiding its warranty and bricking it. The only games I have are Tekken and Medal of Honor, neither of which I am interested in any longer.

What site did you get your custom firmware from? I've been planning on hacking mine so I can play PSone games, but I can never find a good tutorial.

oooh...the PSOne emulator requires a downgrade, which I dont do. I use and eloader to play SNES, Genesis, NES etc etc.

but the psp updates site on QJ is the best one I can rec. just google PSP updates and youll get there, they walk you thru the entire process step by step.

I've had mine since it came out and I don't play any games on it except maybe Virtua Tennis every once in a while. I got a 4gb memory card and just use it for watching tv shows. I can fit 2+ seasons of a 30 minute tv show on it, it's pretty nice

FF: Crisis Core and GoW: Chains Of Olympia are going to drive PSP sales so hard.

PSP is great.

A game I reccommend is Loco Roco. Its not a fast pace game, gets a little frusterating at times but its fun and becomes a lot more fun the further you get along in the game.

Also Work Time Fun. Cant really describe it but trust me just get it.

I'd recommend:

Valkryie Profile

Then download ROMs of:

Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy VI
Star Ocean

...and any other Super Nintendo RPGs you can think of.

I remember playing it on the Super Nintendo when I was around seven years old. 1995 was THE year I got into RPGs due to the fact I had already played all the other games for the SNES, and luckily that was the time that Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and Final Fantasy VI came out (though FFVI came out in '94).

Thank God for SNES RPGs...they were some of the best out there until the Playstation's vast variety of amazing RPGs.
