What an awesome movie...after over 20 years and many pointless sequels they have successfully refreshed these characters and made a kick ass slasher flick. I wont give anything away if you wanna see...but if your a horror fan you wont be dissapointed. (Although I wasnt pleased with the ending the movie overall was great.)
On a side note..they had a preview for the remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"...wow...it looks sick. The crowd went nuts after the trailer, they gave it a loud ovation. Cant wait to see that.)

Ok I am going to reveal the ending so if you dont wanna know please exit now...Dont say I didnt warn you.
Ok Ill just get right to the end...Freddy battles Jason in his dreamworld (awesome scene) while Jason is unconcious...the teenagers in the movie have Jasons body in their van and they are heading to Crystal Lake in hopes of dragging Freddy into the real world and awakening Jason so they can kill each other off once and for all. The one girl goes to sleep to get Freddy, shortly after Jason wakes up and starts some chaos at Crystal Lake after the kids arrive there...Jason is about to kill them all when the girl successfully brings Freddy out of the dreamworld and into Crystal Lake. Freddy looks around and sees where he is (The look on his face is priceless.)...Jason immediately goes after Freddy (At this point the audience is going ballistic I felt like I was at a sporting event.).
The two legends are fighting it out by the lake. Freddy is being very resourceful and doing pretty well. They end up at the end of the dock all bloodied up and wounded. Jason is hurt pretty bad it seems (He has many steel pipes shoved through him.), Freddy starts stabbing the shit out of him with his claws...then Jason rips his arm with the claw right out of its socket...meanwhile the teens have soaked the docks in kerosene and they light it on fire...the whole thing blows up and the two of them fall into the lake...the end?....No.
The two kids are sitting there trying to recover when you hear footsteps coming towards them...who survived? All of a sudden you see the machete blade come into view...you are supposed to think its Jason but as the camera pans out it reveals Freddy holding Jasons machete...he holds it up and is about to kill the girl when Jason jumps out and shoves Freddys own arm with the claw right through Freddys chest...Jason falls back into the water and Freddy is lingering on the verge of death...Then the girl grabs the machete and chops Freddys head off...the head falls into the lake and it looks like Jason wins...the end? No...
The final scene shows Jason emerge from Crystal Lake...only this time he's holding Freddys severed head...the head looks lifeless until it comes to life and winks at the camera (I hated that ending.)
It almost looked as if they were on the same team and were going to go after the children...unless Jason doesnt know that Freddy is still alive...but why would he be carrying his head? Im not sure but if they keep making more sequels of this they are going to drive the two franchises further into the ground...they shoulda just let it end with this movie and gone out with a bang...because I thought this movie was a success.

I knew there wouldnt be a clear winner...if one side won it would piss off the other sides fans...but the movie was alot of fun and Id say Jason appeared to have won more so than Freddy. He killed so many people in some gory scenes. Freddy killed one person.
yea! i have the best imagination, which is a curse at times. Very bad. i imagine way too much. not good for scary movies

i can't handle scary movies. my imagination is way overactive and i am paranoid for days after seeing any remotely scary movie.

freddy fucking rules. that guy is hilarious. he should have won cuz he was beating the hell out of jason (dream world and real world). after seeing this movie it made me wanna go back and see the other freddy and jason movies (even though some of them were bad and cheesy).
This movie was so far from horror.
It was an action flick with choreographed fight scenes and alot of blood.

My fav horror movie will always be Halloween. Very cool because it was very realistic. Also, that movie was creepy because it wasn't overdone or anything, it was just good. I was mad when I first saw H2 cause that movie had almost no consistency. Also, they should've jsut ended it with H2. Nothing better than ending a series with a shot of the killers face on fire and the mask melting off.

I read somewhere that they are considering doing another movie like this, but with Mike Myers from Halloween. I think that would be a good one. They need to have a true winner though.

It could be the movie that ends the Halloween movies or something. I like Halloween, maybe he can kill the guy from Scream or the fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer something

Good ending, though neither died.

Ronin was right it was definately more of an action movie...there was nothing really scary about it. Everyone just wanted to see those two go at it.

the next idea that i've seen floating around the horror sites is Jason vs. freddy......vs. Ash (from evil dead)........

......your nuts......nothing made now adays could ever be better then the original (or the 1 sequel)........also the director of this is on the committee of directors against violent movies......which means this film most likely will suck (just like jason vs. freddy.)

Yeah I heard that too...what a dumb idea. They are gonna turn this into WWF royal rumble with all these different matchups...they need to keep things the way they are and not get too drastic. I dont think they should have made a sequel to FvJ but with the money its making they definately will.

i dont think j vs. f should have been made in the first place.....but your right with the 35 million it made this weekend there is no doubt that a sequel and a prequel to freddy will be on the way.......

There are 3 sequels to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Maybe you mean there are only 2 that involved Tobe Hooper?

yep. it only has one direct sequel in my mind.......Leatherface and Next Generation have nothing to do with original............
hey you seem to really like horror movies......i'd love to know what your top ten are, if you have the time.........
This is off the top of my head, and is subject to change
1) Halloween
2) Night of the Living Dead
3) Dawn of the Dead
4) The Shining
5) Lucio Fulci's "Zombie"
6) Event Horizon
7) The Exorcist
8) The Omen
9) Evil Dead
10) Day of the Dead
I'd like to include Signs, Rosemary's Baby and The Ninth Gate, but I can't really classify them as horror.
Also, "The Fog" is my favourite cheesy horror movie.
Like I said, this is off the top of my head, but I've watched a ridiculous amount of horror movies in the past 15 years.

Signs was a good movie... until the ending.
