after 9 seasons and 200+ episodes, King of Queens comes to an end tonight. I'll be at work but I'll watch it when I get home. Here's a recap of what's happened the last few episodes:

When Doug and Carrie were first looking for a home, they were considering an apartment in the city. However, the wait list for the building was long and after 10 long years they finally receive a letter in the mail that their apartment was available. Doug wants to stay in Queens but tells Carrie they can move because he knows it's not possible because of Arthur. However, Arthur meets his former pop-idol crush and they become engaged. Now that Arthur is out of the picture, Carrie snatches up the apartment but Doug refuses to leave. For a time Doug is living in their home in Queens and Carrie in their apartment in the city. After Doug's parents find out, Doug and Carrie are forced to talk to a priest and they decide to fill the void in their life that Arthur left by adopting a Chinese baby. Carrie agrees that the baby's life would be better lived in Queens and promises to move back if Doug gets a higher paying job. So Doug quits IPS and goes into sales while they plan a trip to China. Spencer, who has developed a crush on Carrie while she was living in the apartment gives Doug a mysterious call informing him that Carrie has not given up the apartment after all....

all i really know about this show is that Patton Oswalt is (or was?) on it and hates (or hated?) it.

it always kind of had an 'Everybody Loves Raymond' type of feel to it, but less funny.

Saw this tonight. Overall funny, usually series finales seem rushed and out of character but King of Queens made it work to a degree. I'll miss the show. I watched most of the episodes in syndication on UPN 9 and now TBS. The middle seasons were the best and just so weird and hilarious at the same time. So many classic episodes and laugh out loud moments. Kevin James is a comic genius. It was not like Raymond's series at all except when the shows had a cross-over event. I wouldn't say King of Queens was edgy but it prided itself on the quirkiness and flaws of it's character. RIP King of Queens.

I'm sad to see this show go, seeing as i just got into it this past year.

But i read its the fourth most syndicated show behind Simpsons, Seinfeld, and Everybody Loves Raymond.

interesting, but I would imagine Friends, Frasier, and Cheers would top the King of Queens in syndication. maybe I'm wrong.

Frasier and Cheers are gone for the most part. Friends is barely around too.

Frasier is on Lifetime and CW. Cheers is on CW and I'm sure elswhere, maybe Nick & Nite or TV Land.

I'm shocked this show went for that long, not saying it's bad, I'm just shocked it went that long. Is Jerry Stiller still on it? He was the only reason I watched before.

so in any case this is what happened last night...

After Doug finds out that Carrie lied to him, he becomes set on a divorce and gets drunk on the way to Arthur's wedding. In the dressing room, Eva, Arthur's bride tells Carrie that ever since her first husband she has decided to only marry homosexual men. Eva then leaves Arthur when she finds out he's not gay. Arthur who then finds out that Eva left him proposes to Spencer's mother in the men's bathroom. During the reception, Doug drinks some more in the ally, Spencer finds out Danny has a new roommate, and Holly's having a baby without a husband. Carrie speaks to Doug where he says it's over, she decided not to make a "leap of faith" on him and in the end decide to race to China to see who deserves the baby. On the plane they make up and go to the adoption agency together. Carrie buys a pregnancy test in the hotel lobby and finds out she's pregnant. They decide to keep both babies. Flash forward one year later, Arthur returns to the Heffernan house.

It ends with a clip montage. I nearly cried :-(
