Calling all computer gurus

Alright so here's the predicament...I got this webcam from my friend to make homemade porn for my sweet lady Anna...problem is that it refuses to install. It's a logitech quickcam...the program installs...but my computer just does not pick up the camera. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!! thank you.

alrite, if i were you, i would go to "start" then "run" and type in whatever code will start up the CD drive. (i.e. on my computer its H). OR, try to see if you can find the software on the web somewhere and just download it.

If that doesnt work, i suggest asking the guy who lent you the camera whether or not a manual came with it.

Ya, my logitech isn't compatible with XP and didn't work properly when I tried to install it. I bet that's your problem.

There may be a couple problems with it:

A) assuming its usb, you're usb ports may not be installed / drivers may need to be updated
B) the program you installed may be for a different OS, thus it's not working with your current one
C) the camera doesn't work with the OS at all (as mentioned above)
D) make sure you check the cords, as lame as it is there can be a bent pin or something fucking everything up

I'd double check the camera model number on the website and make sure its compatible ... then try downloading the newest drivers for it .. logitech is usually good with compatibility ..

well .. i WAS majoring in computer science .. but the physics program at my school (NJIT) was wayyy too hard because none of the professors can talk english (barely can anyway) so I ended changing my major to Information Technology so i don't have to take physics .. essentially the same thing though, just no physics and less math .. also, i'm a loser and teach myself tons about computers so .. if you guys have questions feel free to send em my way ..

programming is usually found a sub division of sciences. The big joke all of us make at school is we get a cs degree from NJIT to become local cops because there isn't much of a field. I got lucky though, i have a student job at school in the computing services divisions .. and they're already talking about hiring me when i graduate .. and I'm just starting my 2nd year (and technically not even enough credits to be labeled a sophomore) but its good because they love me and if I play my cards right I work for them and they pay me to get my master's and i'm set. Plus i learn a lot there because our office houses all the main servers for the entire school.

alright, thanks...I dunno...I think the problem comes up when I have to reboot my comp after installing and that little window with the drums on it pops up saying Windows 98 is configuring or something...that screen always freezes up and never finishes...I'm just gonna give the cam back...thanks for all your help.
