Lefsetz (http://lefsetz.com/) recently wrote a letter about Jack's Mannequin (http://www.jacksmannequin.com/), it can be read here (http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/index.php/archives/2007/05/10/into-the-airwaves/).

i don't know if I have ever listened to this song and thought "what's he singing about?" I do, however, love this song. And Lefsetz is right, he could be singing anything over this tune and melody, it would still be cool. It's one of the few songs I truly love from this record.

that's really cool, and I agree; Andrew is a true artist...and it seems like everyone who pays attention is really able to pick up on it.

You should read his articles on a more consistent basis. He's right far more often than he's wrong; and he always makes pretty good points.

I don't what you guys are saying, Lefsetz is a brilliant and honest guy who knows the ropes a lot better than most of you do. I agree with a good amount of the stuff he says.

Andrew McMahon, I think, will be one of a few artists of this time period that will be remembered in the future.

I've only known this guy from when he bashed Cartel about the Bubble shit, so when I saw this I was expecting something bad, but when I actually read it I was really excited. Everything he said was spot on. Everything in Transit is one of my favorite albums.

EIT is one of my favorite albums, and JM's live show is absolutely stellar.

He honestly deserves more than what he's gotten.

Am I the only one hoping for a new SoCorp album? I love EIT but Leaving Through The Window and North are 2 of my favourite albums

Definitely. I've seen them twice and both times left me in complete awe... something of which no other band has done for me.

Jack's is amazing live, they sound better live than the album. Supposedly Andrew's making a new album this summer (cross my fingers!). I definitely miss SoCo, though. North is my favorite album of all time.

After that Cartel battle, I wasn't expecting this from him, but maybe I'll take Jason's suggestions and read his stuff more often.

This has always been one of my favorite JM songs. I just love the way it sounds. Something about it ignites a spark in me that makes me feel alive.

that's the truest thing i've read from him. congratulations to him on the epiphany, I love this record, it didn't leave the cd player in the van last summer.

yea, he makes lots of good points, but he also seems to get so caught up in just putting words down, that his thoughts are jumbled and really hard to follow. often he doesnt make a lot of sense and a lot of what he says is very arguable or even preposterous (such as the emo comment about the "burning building" lines of the song).

but im glad to see him give some props to Andrew, because well, basically Andrew is the man and JM is incredible (as was SoCo).

I know Andrew's going to put out a new JM album next, but really the only thing I want in life right now is for Something Corporate to get back together. That is all I want.
