definitely agree. Lafacadio is amazing too, the song carousel and Acrobat are two of my favorites by them, followed by And the wick turned black off of Blood and Aphorisms

I'm honestly not that big a fan of Lafcadio. I can admit it's a good CD, sure, but it doesn't do it for me the way to self titled CD does

Very very good, "Acrobat" and "Breaking Blossom" are among my favorites. But "If I'm Not Out Burning Bridges I'm Lighting Matches" takes the cake. It's an awesome build-up and finishes up making you want more.

Saw Dan and Julio at Soundwave festival on March 3. Apparently they couldn't afford for the whole band to come! It was an awesome acoustic set though. They started of with "Hallelujah" (sounded eerily like Jeff Buckley's version) which was absolutely awesome and then they played "Song for Luna", "Maybe I'm Just Tired" and "I'm Just Kicking Myself". After that they played a couple others and "Love, love, love (love, love)" and asked people to come on-stage to sing gang vocals if they knew the words. Casey from the Dear Hunter and Dan from the Starting Line also accompanied them onstage. Once of the best musical moments of my life right there! It was sick!

I don't really like Lafcadio as much as the S/T. I listened to S/T first and then I listened to Lafcadio, and there's quite a difference between Dan's vocals on both albums, and he improved a lot from Lafcadio to S/T. They should be a lot bigger than they are though.

how this band isn't fucking huge blows my mind.

They would be if almost everybody who enjoys thier music WOULD NOT multi -rip songs and download illegal files of thier music. I know for a fact the band and their management are holding the new album closely guarded till the release date. At least that way it can compete with the (ridiculous) low numbers the self-titled sold.

These guys have a huge fanbase, but can't seem to catch a break when it comes to what needs to happen to bring them to the next level. A huge part of that is the fact that the more their music is spread around illegally, thats just less albums they will sell and less serious push from the record people.

I work in the music business and have seen the numbers to prove this band should be selling more than they do. Fucking shame too as this band is way better than 95% of the tired garbage ranted and ravied over around here.

With animal references galore, a band known by the name As Tall As Lions is urging fans to "Do One Thing" for the good old environment. As Tall As Lions, following successful tours with acts like Cage the Elephant and Minus the Bear (told ya), has teamed with the Alliance for Climate Education (http://www.acespace.org/) on their latest outing, in support of "You Can't Take It With You," their latest album on Triple Crown Records (http://www.triplecrownrecords.com/).
The self-described soulful, indie-rock band—vocalist/guitarist Daniel Nigro, guitarist Saen Fitzgerald, bassist Julio Tavarez and drummer Cliff Sarcona—isn't just preaching either. The "Do One Thing" effort is about encouraging people to make simple changes, like kicking the plastic bottle habit and grabbing a steel reusable water bottle instead, or riding your bike more often.

The members of As Tall As Lions (http://www.myspace.com/astallaslions) will be using steel bottles at their shows, and handing them out at various stops in their travels.
Singer Daniel Nigro also has pledged to take the "Zero-Waste Challenge," and not generate any garbage for the entire tour. How will he do it? That remains to be seen. He probably could learn a thing or two from real animals, who seem to get by nicely without filling up garbage bags.
As Tall As Lions fans can text DOT to 30644 to share their DOTs during the show (that's short for Do One Thing, in case you haven't pick up the lingo yet).
The Long Island, New York, band recently posted their first webisode of the DOT/Garbage-free ride. More episodes will be posted frequently to keep fans updated on the band's climate fightin' progress.
