Just ran Ginger Snaps and is now running Gummo. I fear (despite the high quality of both films) that they misunderstand the term "grindhouse" completely, though it's a nice idea. Has anyone else seen an IFC Grindhouse Double Feature before and can enlighten me to other films they have shown. I guess they usually run at midnight on Fridays

P.S. If you haven't seen Ginger Snaps do so immediately. Watching it again tonight I've come to the realization that it is one of the best horror films of the last twenty years.

Hmm, I spoke too soon. Previous Grindhouse nights IFC has shown Bandits vs. Samurai Squadron and Polyester and next week they're showing C.H.U.D. II: Bud the Chud so apparently they know their shit. I'll have to watch more often.

ginger snaps is fucking great. i love that movie.

ginger snaps 2 wasn't bad. a little different take from a sequel standpoint. i liked it.

ginger snaps 3 (ginger snaps back) is completely unwatchable though.

Ginger Snaps 2 is actually more critically acclaimed than the original though I still prefer the original. Two awesome films though. I can watch the third but it's tough.

i wish the third weren't a prequel. if they'd have continued from two, and have three center around the little girl, i think that could have made for a pretty kickass movie.

they were definitely onto something good with the first two, that's for sure.

and then they made the third one.

The first was just so fucking clever with the juxtaposition of her period and the werewolf attack. That running theme was so well done and so refreshing.

agree 100%. i hated gummo immensely. it's in my top 10 shittiest movies of all time.

if you can watch that movie and honestly tell me gordon-levitt and daniels' performances weren't great, even oscar-worthy, you don't know much about movies.

I honestly don't like Gordon-Levitt that much. Daniels' performance was quite good but he always is amazing. Still performances don't make movies good or not. I can appreciate the acting but not to a point where I can say that this movie is good. Plus I think Momento does it alot better.
