What did you think? I liked a lot more than 28 Days.

I enjoyed it for what it was, definitely, but I don't know about it being better than the first. Though, that opening scene was very intense

I thought the first owned it, but it was decent. The first 5-10 minutes were the best part of the movie to me.

the first and last scenes were amazing, but the rest of the movie I thoroughly enjoyed. I not only liked it more than 28 Days, but I think I liked it more than Dawn of the Dead also.

I missed Cillian Murphy

Like everyone else said, the opening was really engaging. I honestly can't remember the last horror movie I saw that used emotions / ethics as such a powerful part of the story-line.

Very good, not as good as 28 Days Later though. Ballpark though, which far exceeded my expectations.

yeah, that would have worked also, but i hate ambiguous endings. seeing the "zombies" run up out of the underground with the choppy camera and the Eiffel Tower in the background sent shivers down my spine. hell, most of the movie did. that kind of ending gave me the same kind of "what if" moment, but this time I knew it was bad.

yeah, but that's the other reason theyd add it- to set up for the next movie.

So whats it gonna be? 28 Months Later or 28 Years Later?

Adeniz19

I was really let down by it, the plot was dumb and predictable. I really enjoyed the beginning scenes but then it just became stupid. Hopefully if a third one comes out its decent. Days was far more enjoyable to me personally.

in all fairness, it IS a zombie movie. Can't do much with that formula.

Take that back! I love Zombies, and the formula can lead to all kinds of greatness. Don't believe me? Read the comic series The Walking Dead. It will show you what you can do with it.

i loved the walking dead lol. almost as much as 30 days of night.

you CAN do a lot with the genre, but that doesnt change that the zombie movie in and of itself is a very singular genre. you cant do much with the base formula, just with the interpretation.

I really enjoyed it, and liked it better than 28 days...but anyways, what you guys think the next title is? 28 months, 28 hours, 28 minutes? I'm pretty sure it would be one of the last 2, although it could be 28 months I guess, but it would be hard as hell to make a storyline out of it without the audience being completely lost...although zombie europe and asia be pretty sweet

It's 28 Months.

Adeniz19

how will it be hard to do months? it'll take over 2 years after the fact and probably all of europe/asia/africa will be infected.

i finally broke down and watching after telling myself i'd never see it. i'd heard so many good things that my interest was raised.

i should have stood my ground.

i did not like this movie at all. this seemed more like an imitation than a sequel. it's another one of those movies that could have been named anything else and it wouldn't have made any difference to the story.

the story was shit. i could care less about the characters. and i fucking hate when things happen so conveniently and coincidentally. there just really wasn't anything about this movie i enjoyed.

except the sister. that chick is fucking gorgeous.

Sucked. It was way too short and predictable, and it really let me down, the only part that got to me was when the husband got infected and killed his wife. Could have been much better.

I agree.

So it looks like 28 Months later might take place in Russia. Boyle was interviewed saying "I don't know whether it'll happen or not...the third idea has more to do with Russia but that's all I can say."

im a little confused. i have not seen it but plan on it and i have no idea if this is a plot hole or it is explained in the second movie.

in the first one the lead girl character talks of the virus spreading to the us and other countries. so was it supposedly contained on all fronts by the time the second movie starts or what?

Someone in another thread tried to say it was just a false radio report and at a time of panic like that facts get jumbled. I dunno, I just think they botched it and forgot all about that in the 2nd haha

since i have not seen the beginning i cannot comment on it...but my favorite zombie movie beginning is the original dawn of the dead. there are no zombies for the first 10-15 minutes but just the complete confusion at the tv station set the tone for the rest of the movie so perfectly. god i love that movie.

it's not botching it. they said they 'heard reports.' even now with no zombies, people hear false reports all the time. imagine that time of panic. people will latch on to anything like that just to convince themselves they're not the only ones going through it.

this is discussed when jim and the other dude are chained up, before they're taken out to be executed. the guy's rambling on about how the rest of the world is going on as normal and people are at home watching the simpsons. the guy brings up the point of how would it cross a body of water? no infected is sneaking onto a plane or boat. everybody was convinced that this was worldwide, but this guy's ramblings lead to the first time jim thinks that it's actually not. and that is driven home as he's laying in the woods and sees the plane flying overhead. that gives him hope that the rest of the world is going on normally.

it's not a plot hole. it's good writing. it's just not spelled out directly for ya.
