Today, season 1, part 1 of 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out on DVD. This is the one that started in 2003 on Fox Kids and was more edgy and dark than the original cartoon, this one tracing it's roots to the comic book. I've never saw any of them, yet I just got the DVD and I plan to watch some and I think I will enjoy them. The original one is great, however, "dark" is always better as in Batman The Animated Series. Anyone else pick this up or plan to?

Hmm, I'm surprised I never heard about this series. What does the DVD look like?

Actually it aired on Fox Box which is now 4Kids TV. I picked up a random dvd of it in the bargain bin a while ago and it was pretty good. I'll see if Wal-mart has it today, I always wanted to see the beginning.

Oh okay. I see it on Amazon for pretty cheap. I might grab this.

So far I like it, it isn't near as "dark" as I thought it would be, although I'm only three episodes in. One thing I do love is that it seems like the entire season at least is one giant story arc. The first three episodes were all basically one episode, even though none of them are listed as part 1, etc. I'm glad I got it, $15 or so, good deal I think.
