two amazing movies.. but i don't think you can compare them really. i picked shawshank though because i would watch it right now over the godfather.

Shawshank. Seen it more than a few times and I would watch it again. Saw The Godfather once and I dont really care to watch it again.

Shawshank.. Don't like the Godfather... Or really any Mob movies for that matter.. Casino, Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale.. Those Are Great

it seems like "mob movies" are either loved or hated by most people. personally, I'm part of the "love" section haha. I love the Godfather, the Godfather II, (the third one; not so much haha)...Goodfellas, the Departed, etc...and one of my fave TV shows is the Sopranos.

but yeah, it is a touch call, as they are two of the greatest movies ever...but personally, Id say it depends on my mood, as far as which one I like better.

i cant believe the godfather is losing. shawshank redemption was made fairly close to my home, and was a big deal when it released, but i wouldn't put it in the same league as the godfather. i've seen shawshank more, but the godfather is by far better. i love shawshank, dont get me wrong, it's really good, but godfather is legendary.
