actually really enjoyed it. something i usually don't like, but this is not bad. the camera angle @ the very end would of been ideal. tell your bandmates to get into it alot more. good first show, grats

you should have been crawling up in those rafters.
tell your drummer to hit hard as shit and get your stringers fucking riled up. you guys should do some group stretches and pumping up before hand. like setting up to pump up the jam by technotronix
overall it looks aewsome! outdoor shows ftw!

oh shit! i just saw the new angle! dude you guys should get lots and lots of amps. the best thing in the world is getting lost in a enormous sea of sound.

btw Mikey, if you got a random text from a 401 number last night, that was me. I don't know if you have my number or not.
you sound like you're barking.
i'd give it a 3/10
chance for improvement, though.

not my kind of music at all - thought it was horrible but that is purely based on my taste and i know other people love this stuff! your other band members need to get into it more. good luck with it all!

Yeah meng, june 9th, I don't expect everyone to like my band, you kind of have to be a metal fan in some degenerated way.

I'm sorry.. you guys are not good. I know it's only your first show, so you'll probably definitely get better eventually, but you have a lot of work to do. I don't want to discourage you, I just don't want you to think you're better than you are though.
But I suggest checking out my roommate's band. I think you'll dig it. www.myspace.com/wearethewang (http://www.myspace.com/wearethewang)
I suggest "The Seventh Song"

Haha, so you want us to be stereotypical post 04 Grind, which is not really even grind in the first place? If that's what we were going for, then you'd have a definite point, but it's definitely not what we're going for.

Did I ever say I wanted you to change your sound? Well.. kinda I guess. But I never said grind. I said check out my roommate's band. But your band, currently, is terrible. You should work on that.

If my band was half as terrible and generic as the one you showed me, I'd probably throw myself into a campfire.

And you're telling me you're not terrible and generic how? Because you're even more terrible than most? Is that what you're telling me sets you apart?
Look dude. I took the time out of my day to give your band a chance. The least you can do is perhaps consider my criticism. You're an idiot/both deaf & blind if you don't see your band needs work. As far as my roommate's band is concerned, so grind's not your thing. But at least respect the fact that they're all talented musicians (far more talented anyone in your band). I mean, honestly, listen to the guitar parts in any song, but especially "The Seventh Song". Or let's compare your vocals. As one forum member puts it "you sound like you're barking 3/10". Tommy as least doesn't make me want puncture my eardrums with sharp objects.

this is what made a difference to me. i usually don't listen to this type, but for some reason it really appealed to me. do you have pv/mypsace?

Regardless of whether or not his band is good, the fact you rec'd your friends horrible trend grind band makes your opinions completely worthless.
iHATEapril
05/24/07, 09:47 AM
haha well I suppose we're not really trying to appeal to people who like garbage music in garbage genres. The talent of musicians in a band does not hardly represent the quality of a band, your buddy's band would appeal to lots of silly scenesters who appreciate aimlessly heavy bands that play repetitive garbage. Your lack of knowledge is also concerning, considering that band is not a grind band, but one who simply use the genre being that there is no word to describe the completely un Napalm Death influenced shit that they play , ala Debello Records. This is my last response to you, I'm off to go bark at the mailman.

i like that its just flat out metal. No stupid "oh shit w3 r teh br00t4lz". The fact people are going to make flat assumptions about your sound/skill based on your first show at an OUTSIDE venue is ridiculous. Im still laughing about that dudes friends band...haha the fact he would rec that...just wow.

05/24/07, 09:51 AM
Haha, They're such straightforward metal, and I dont know what I am, but I like how it comes together.
Why did you have the hood on lol? And yeah, I have to agree with the others, your players need to .... wake up. The guitarist seemed to be halfheartedly doing it. It reminds me a bit of hiretsukan. I didn't like the lower end of you vocal range, but I always dislike them. I liked the way it built up, but I can't tell if it was just due to a lack of me paying attention or what, but the instruments during most of the vocal parts was really indistinct. And ugh, I really hate the superlow growls. If you could get as into it throughout the whole thing as you were at the end, that would be awesome.

haha, I could see people not liking the low stuff, but I love it. I mean, it's not a new idea, my voice is low and that stuff is super powerful for me. Thanks for your opinion though, I mean, if you're not into metallish stuff, I could totally see not being a fan of the low stuff. Thanks saraaaa.

haha yeah I'm not a huge fan of that sort of music, but hey it was cool for what it was. (i like heavy stuff but i enjoy something with more of a melody i guess)

Yeah, the vocals are technically fine, I just don't like low end screams. (I'm much higher myself).
But oh, I wasn't saying it was bad, it was pretty good, I was just critiquing it a bit for you.
Don't listen to that radio napalm idiot, he tried to tell me about how a record label based in Delaware, on a topic about Philly music, and the Philly scene, when asked what labels are based IN Philly he argues that a record label in Delaware could be considered Philly because of the same 3 bands with the same 3 rotating group of members over the years.

Not really my style, but you had energy so that's good. If the rest of the band was as pumped as you, it probably would have been a really entertaining show.
It was fun to watch you at least, though.

You're the screamer? Not bad.
If the sound quality were better, I'd enjoy it more. And next time tell your band to get more into it. Good music though.
And YouTube users are douchebags. lol, dont worry about them.
